Anyone know how to make the background invisible, like see through? I have been trying that ever since I got CS4.

Just delete the background. Also you have to be sure about your saving settings.

I saved it with a transparent background, but it appeared with the white background when I saved it. Can you show me how to save with transparency?

You have some Layers when you make a image (Background, Layer 1, 2,3,4 etc..) Simply delete the background layer and Save as PNG.

I don't use the layers. Wait, are you saying that layers appear even if you don't use them? I only use the 1st layer that appears when you start a new picture.

Well, I usually, for example my avatar, first selected Brian, then pasted it on a second layer, so I had Background layer and Layer 1 (where the dog was) then I deleted the background layer. So I would just have Layer 1. And when I saved the picture, I saved it as .Png. (do not choose interlace if it gives you the option)

If it's transparent, I figured out how to make the background inivisible.

If not, I still gotta figure it out. :|

I used three layers for that last one >_> I suck at the text though, I just put that on. I also used 2 tutorials, one for the man in the suit, and the background that he's on.

couldn't see in the topic that you got your answer, but to save with a transparent background, you need to have transparent background from the beginning, and when you are saving the file, you need to save it either in .png or .gif, if you save it in .jpg, then you only get a white background
