Gang fights, provoking, shootouts and wars..

First of all, Argonath is a RPG server. That means we give options to play different styles and characters.
However while we do not use strict rules, we feel that criminal RP should be different as the idea many have.

Gang Wars
A gang war is a large meeting between two rival groups, mafia's or gangs. The object of this is to settle a difference between them that can not be solved otherwise.
Gang wars are not permitted without strict rules.
First of all, they must be held in a place where they are not likely to meet (innocent) bystanders. Grove street is a bad locations, as many new players from other servers will go there first. On top of a hill in the desert is a better one, you can see anyone coming for miles.
Secondly, they must ave a clear and defined, big reason. That reason is not 'a member was killed yesterday' or 'we do not like you'. It can be 'the right to protect business in Grove Street' or 'placement of headquarters in LV'.
Third, it must be under admin supervision.
Fourth, those involved in gang war can not return when killed.
Fifth, once the war is over any following shooting or conflict will be seen as revengekilling/DM and is punishable.


Gang fights/shootouts

Several times a day gang member fight for almost no reason. The administration does not accept 'they killed a member yesterday, this morning, 5 minutes ago' as a reason  to load a car with gang memebers and start shooting. Unless there is a clear and valid reason as to why people meet and fight, this is seen as either revenge killing (even without the killed member present) or DM.
If administration notice several members going to the area of another gang with the purpose of fighting or provoking a fight, the provoking members will be punished.
Any complaints as that they were returning a previous provoke are invalid to escape punishment.
Meetings between gangs that end without fight are allowed.

Gang provoking
A lot of the issues come from provoking. One gang/mafia holding a 'party' on the terrain of another or driving by 100 times in order to provoke a reaction. Players caught in provoking or setting up other gangs/mafias will be punished.

What is the use of criminal roleplay ?
Ok now a lot of players will ask this. A gang or mafia is trying to build an empire and gain power, by using legal and illegal methods. That does not include hanging out for no other reason than to kill rivals that happen to be near by. When empires meet, it can cause a mass shootout, but not on a daily basis.
As we have already mentioned in our very first guide, taking the role of a criminal or murderer by 'I hate you, I kill you' is not good RP, and is not for our server.

If we spot any gang or mafia being formed for no other reason than an excuse to attack others and shoot, they can be closed after receiving official warnings.

Those who wish to play criminals are invited to bring ideas on how we can continue allowing fights between rival gangs/mafias.
But try to answer the following points:
- how to avoid constant conflicts turning the play to DM rather than RP.
- how to incorporate the element that in life nobody wants to die.
- how to stop provoking and annoying between rivals.
- how to avoid a gang disturbing the RP scenario of other gangs by an 'attack'
