cool tony , one thing the maffia doesnt recruit through ads that would be stupid , thats why i want to introduce the system they have ,you enter when somone in the family introduces you (like i did with samaron)AND if the new member failes he and the one wo introduced him are punished (often rubbed out )
BUT Families are larger as you say in your post and they recruit as many people as their bussiness needs to survive (New york maffia has been recruiting in sicily the last decade because there werent enough American italians to be found)and Extortion is not the only crime maffias are involved in that time is long gone , there are families that will do everything that is proffitable (illegal loteries =running numbers , fencing stolen goods , drug trade etc . etc)

Very good topic Tony, it explains the subject of the gangs very well and also the one of the Mafias, although lack to explain the organization of the Maffia´s families but is very well. Finally somebody with criterion that is bothered in making a good RP.

I can give some information about Cosa Nostra (La, is just the article which means "The"). It was the biggest and powerful Mafia in Italy since the end of the World War 2. After the arrest of Provenzano, the mafia has lost much of its power in all southern italy...actually there are few clans such the "Clan Di Lauro" in naples, and the main Mafia is the "Camorra" composed of many clans often in war each others...
