Suggestions to save an awesome community

Regarding the above topic, what are your honest and true suggestions for solving these problems in Argonath. I don't want to hear the blame-game, trolling, or "LOL KILL ALL THE FREECOPS". This is a 100% realistic ideas topic to see what can be done. We all know of a few ways, but in what ways in large-scale form can we put them into action? State your ideas and opinions, but DO NOT TROLL OR SPAM. I will link these two topics via a post in order to get it more attention, but this topic is completely serious. The SA:MP community is veering on the edge of self-destruction. I need not remind everyone that Developers ban moaners on sight, Administrators have pockets of no coverage during the day and night, and that users deathmatch, cop-hunt, play for greed, and rulebreak to all hell and back due to the issues being created. This community comes out of the owner's pockets, and the scripts for them are coming from the developers minds and hard work, yet they go unappreciated every day unless the servers have an outage for at least an hour or more. Roleplayers have lost their concepts of what roleplay actually is. This is not a strict roleplay community, but it is not a non-roleplay community either. Things never used to be like this in the past. MTA:VC, VC:MP, and even the few that play on MTA:SA have never run across the issues that the SA:MP server has. I think it's time we finally make a move to reclaim the roleplay community and save it before the owners just say **** it and shut it all down, which I would not blame them for at all given how users are acting. This is an open community, free of charge, for all to roleplay in any way that they choose, and yet somehow, users still take advantage of it. On a strict roleplay/closed community server, you would be banned for taking advantage of a situation in a roleplay. Here, it's actually quite hard to get banned unless you are straight-up hacking or mass-abusing scripts. I think it's time for a change in the community's behavior and actions. Let's bring back SA:MP stronger than it ever was before...

Daco is telling the truth. There is no such thing as a 100% happy community and there never will be. Life is too 'real' and will flip on you radically and easily without notice or warning. Family can die, you may lose someone close to you, stocks you had die, bankruptcy, and everything else. This is the same thing here, except all the bad things happen normally. What I'm trying to say is, there is not enough + in life for ALL people to reflect it here, if something bad happens irl, something bad happens here, or someone causes something bad.

Sugar, I couldn't agree more. Of course, at times I push the rule breaking line, but we do need more role play.

If ANYONE takes what this topic is about as a moan, it's not.....not even close.

At the moment, players DO play for greed. Cops hunt suspects, criminals(Some, not all) don't RP, but, cops wont either(Not all, but some). It seems a large majority of the cops on this server just like to hunt down suspects. The reason I don't go on TS is because all I hear is "Uh..suspect 43 is at prickle pine, go go go" I can't believe I'm actually saying this due to the fact it was an April Fools joke by the devs. that the accounts SHOULD be reset to 10k. Sure, some people worked hard for their money, but it creates so much greed. People these days, play for money....not fun. Back when I joined, people played for fun...but over the last year, it's changed...for the worse. They think having money is soo cool and they over power everyone. When I won a 1 million dollar lotto, 2 times, I did events, donations, almost everything. I had less than 200k very fast. I wish more people were like this. They would donate and stuff to benefit other players, but not themselves. As Sugar was saying, it is still a role play server...it means role play.

Well, ok, so you think that Argonath should be saved. Ok first you need a vision, what should Argonath look like. This is quite clearly explained by the developers in here. Let me bring out some of the points from it.

1.   Argonath was, is, and will always be a community that should be friendly to new people. We will continue to be  a breeding ground for new people to discover the fun of playing by imagination. This is what has brought us official status and creates a regular flow of new players in to our server, keeping the community alive and feeding it.

I see no problem with it. SAMP still is friendly and open toward new players.

2.   Argonath gives equal rights to new, experienced and admin players. We do not discriminate between players, and having admin rights or being a long time player does not give any of our players rights to act as better, higher or having more status as another.

At the moment there are some exceptions to that rule in SAMP. For example what concerns new players without passport not being able to choose from all the cop skins.(To get a passport you must have played in Argonath for a week, so a little difference between a player who has just joined server and the one who has been a member at least a week) but that is understandable.

4.   Argonath strives to keep rules simple and understandable. Our community was created as free RP, based on imagination and creativity. We will not ever support it changing in to a jungle of rules that are impossible to understand, follow and adhere to. Our rules will remain the minimal needed to stop players who wish to disturb the fun in playing from doing so, not more and not less.

With time the rules have gone more complicated, but nothing impossible to understand, follow and adhere.

9.   Argonath bases its community on respect and friendship between players of all nations.  This means that those who feel that they are allowed to disrespect others, consider others as inferior or treat them as such will be offered the choice to either change their views or leave the community. This includes any groups of players in game.

All is well with that point.

10.   Argonath will remain as open, friendly and strong community for people worldwide who wish to enjoy playing a game based on imagination and creativity.

Well that point is implemented as well, you can see it from the variety of our community, which is from Japanese to Americans and all the nations between.( going from east to west)

So which part of Argonath Vision SAMP is having difficulty with?
