I think this thread was already answered... wasn't it?

Yeah it was a few pages back.

Roleplay how you want just don't force your style onto others and take offense when they don't go along with your's.
Personally I hate OOC // IC and this S/F Bullshit but I still use it well not the S/F.. as that is complete bullshit altogether.

Why do we always have the same arguments over and over it's getting tiring.

REPLICA.

I used to use S/F, until i went back to the ways of my old rp when i was like 13-14 and all. People can use their imagination and even add realism or since this is a game, do something that you have seen in some action movie. If i /me goes to cut so and so's hand off, he can move his hand away, if he does i can have someone hold it (in a torturing scene) and then go to cut it off. Instead of going 'Don't force rp' he can do /me bites (guy holding his arm)'s Wrist, obviously guy would flip out if he broke skin or he may have a watch on and be like /s You broke my Rolex watch!. I mean seriously, people just need to use their imagination and have fun instead of bickering. Some people also need to set good examples because we have new people coming into this community all the time. Like i said, have fun.
Although i do agree with ooc and IC, because IRL im not a Serbian Mobster who lives in Argonath. IRL im a White/Native American guy who is going to school for Criminal Justice. I don't rp myself in Argonath, if i did...what would be my point in roleplaying lol.

To clarify on OOC & IC principles - whilst they are not supported officially, you are permitted to use them providing you do not enforce the concept upon others. As a result, you must learn to tailor your RP as well as embracing others forms at the same time.  :)

Though much is taken, much abides; and though we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Idea: go the hell away. you be a damned crybaby to me when I say one thing or say something about you because your such a hypocrite, but its ok for you to flame and provoke? Your a real class act, Dave. Its funny how you come into a topic and start shitting on groups. how about we shit on you? you would like that? Or would you ban us for defending ourselves after YOU provoked and flamed us? People like you really are saddening... you care when others rulebreak but its fine when you do it.

omg guys im gona say u rulebreak and threaten a ban but then im gonna provoke and flame and rulebreak like u so i can be cool OKAY!??!!?

^ you like people making fun of you? And [s/f] is used to lessen the forced roleplay so the one who is needing to reply s / f can decide if he wants to or not. So stop BSing about us and look at yourself.

Flaming was one of the ban reasons. I suggest you start calming down, or the unban request will fall through, understand?

How should an admin act then? The way I am acting right now is no different from when I always acted, and I have never had any trouble with that. My attitude has always been like this....maybe it's because I was trained by and learned from Aragorn...not sure.

This is not his unban request, this is a topic about right and wrong in a way of seeing things from the other perspective.

Indeed a good way to change subjects and create some good arguments, kind sir.

Very much indeed. as I stated it before.
This also happened in the Advertisement topic, and Dave starting to pulling out Omri's dirty past.

Frank: You need to tailor RP in between it. By respecting others RP and nurturing yours, something can go wrong, similar to this case.

You're totally right, as he started it...
As many of you seek freedom on forums, because if you try to have a discussion with the said person in-game, you'll probably get punished
Although, you should ignore and report him instead of answering... Easier to say than to do, though.

You guys talk about respect and how you want people to respect you and don't do that and this.
Look at yourselfs.

Respect the way of roleplaying, why give a damn if a guy doesn't roleplay as you. Then do the best out of the situation. Either if he roleplays with S/F shit, or trololololol style. It's a game, and all of you are here to have fun. Appreciate that this server even exist, and you could spend hours and hours on it, instead of moaning how bad and how fucking ridicolous people roleplay. Stand up as a community and don't start putting this side there, and the other one there. Get yourself together.

On the contrary. S/F is a clear attempt to force roleplay, also it slows down roleplay considerably as the person the action is directed to seems to have to reply before continuing. SA:MP is not turn-based RP where you roll the dice on actions. It is also not a place where you should have just two options.
Where the IC/OOC is a crutch for people without brains, the S/F is something I seriously consider banning from use as it indicated forcing a player in to your scenario.

S/F is not attempt to force role play . It offers for player roleplay , if You don't see difference between Powergame and normal roleplay attempt , You really should think about it . That's how random Roleplays are born.

You got the wrong concept of role playing.
You just show how lazy you are to RP by typing, Gandalf. Crutch for brainless people? OOC and IC really eases RP, and it is indeed necessary to establish a successful conversation, because if I say some gangster "Nig**r" he can start moaning or report me "OMG saying I'm nig**r, racist", and I would start to justify that was IC. OOC/IC means understanding/direction/getting the maximum out of the situation. You are just making Facebook out of Argonath, by saying this. DOn't judge us, we RP how we want, you RP how you want. Nobody touches nobody.

You don't need to use S/F. Instead use your noggin and figure out a way to roleplay in return, as i said in my previous post. Also you guys need to have fun instead of complaining. If its a new player then help him out and teach him how to roleplay if he/she needs help with it.

It is actually a form of forced roleplay and powergaming. Why ?

RP without S/F:
* Gandalf pushes Likvidy
Likvidy stumbles but manages to stay on his feed.

RP with S/F
* Gandalf ushes Likvidy
/em S/f ???
Likvidy: /em sucess
Gandalf: [[do /hurt1]

It shows clearly that by this I am forcing you in to my pre-thought scneario without giving room for improvisation and initiative. As such is is powergaming and forced roleplay.
