This is what I don't like from you. You even told me you don't mind roleplaying something that's unusual when we had a talk, and now you say this? There's a reason why Argonath is a world of its own: Being able to roleplay whoever they want to be within the server rules.

We had a big Zombie Outbreak a week ago, with evolutions of them from walking with /drunk to driving vehicles Tell me that's not fun.

Yes, I mentioned I don't mind people roleplaying something that is unusual, but I don't expect people to have powers which are over the limit if they are role-playing an everyday thing.
Example:
* A few robbers approach someone.
Robber1, Robber2 says: Get on the ground!
Robber3 quickly swings his gun handle to RobbedGuy's face.
RobbedGuy laughs after getting the hit, and nothing happens to him.
RobbedGuy says: You can't hit me, I've got super powers.
The situation here might even end worse, by the robbed person pulling out a combat shotgun and rambo-ing everyone.


If you're acting like nothing can affect you when people approach you in some realistic type of role-play, you are considered a powergamer(unfair role-player), but making some cool Zombie outbreak role-play is usually fun and challenging, as long as people actually agree to be in it.

And also, for everyone who asks themselves if my topic is all involving realism - nope. I am just giving out good tips on how to enjoy great role-play, create your own role-play and have fun mostly.

"Trolls" is not relevant to the matter that has been presented in this thread (Although RPing the actual monster troll may be ). Please re-frame from discussing this. 

I particular like the point about what "Serious RP" should really mean as it exposes the issue between the "OOC/IC S/F" users and the ones who don't like them. From what I understand, the correct role playing style should just simply be playing along with others, regardless of whether they used those forms of expression or not.

Useless role-play
I would consider a few things as useless and not contributing to anything, things such as this:
* Player gets out of the car. X
Come on! It's obvious you're getting out of the car, we're not blind and that /me is completely useless.
What would be useful to this situation, is when you do another action while getting out of the car...
* Player slowly rolls his head after getting out of the car, quickly searching his right pocket. √
Even this example is not usually needed, unless you have some sort of reason for "rolling" your head.
Also I'd like to add, a lot of people here are stereotypical to the "serious RP", and they think serious roleplay is this:
* Player opens door.
* Player puts first leg out.
* Player puts second leg out.
* Player jumps out.
* Player closes door.

NO, serious role-play, is simply giving out most of the effort in role-play, and not dicking around.

Success/fail - Bad example of role-playing.
This success fail is like the oldest method and it's an excuse to powergame and not get punished. Imagine a situation where a player uses success/fail.
* Player1 punches Player2 in the face.
* S/F ((Player1)).
* F ((Player2)).
* Why fail? ((Player1)).
* because fail ((Player2)).

Success/fail is for players here who think they are superior, "wow i learnt 2 s/f im god rp lol ^_^" - no you're not, S/F is the most stupid method of role-playing ever because ANY action done on you, you can always resist it with a /me, or play along with it. Good role-play:
* Player1 swiftly swings his fist to Player2's cheek area.
* Player2 quickly ducks before the punch was completed.

The /me slowly rolls his head after getting out of the car, searching for his right pocket. Is not "useless"

It adds depth to your character, and makes him slightly different from everyone else. It's part of realistic roleplay as well, because people have things that they do, body language that they express, etc. Some people just try to capture that in RP to make their character seem more alive.

S/F can only be used when both people are fair roleplayers, since one party has to look at the odds in the event to decide wether the action was a success or failure, sure the other player can just say F every time, but I have been on a server where this works very well, all the time.

And I know what server you are talking about, and they don't support that there anymore and consider this S/F technique really old and for lazy people, when you can actually confront anything with a /me, which is what usually people do there. Most people who get the S/F thing always reply with F, which is really annoying and that's why today people confront it with a /me, simple. I know it because I'm actually a regular there.

Learn to read please, I never said you can't RP something unusual, I just said you have to role-play so it would be fair to everyone who are around you.
Sure, be some alien or whatever, but you can't make it as an excuse to everything such as getting robbed, hit in the face and nothing happens - basically the point is fair role-play so all sides enjoy it.
I also don't like how you tell me to fuck off when you can't bother to read carefully through the topic, when I explained the same thing.
