Discussing a national tragedy in itself has nothing to do with politics unless you discuss the political decisions and actions behind it.

Argonath RPG is still a growing community, and while not many members have reached 5 years of active presence, others have replaced and found the togetherness of the community. Some people say that through internet you can not have real friendship and everything should be considered as false. Those people have been influenced by their parents or teachers, who grew up without internet, and can not understand the modern times. While we do not know each other in person, and as old people we do believe it is good not to reveal personal information to relative strangers, this does not mean that we are fake in our personality.

Don't know if this has been suggested (I'm lazy, so didn't read through the topic), but how about a kind of parade, with all the public services involved (ARPD, ARFD, EMS, AA etc), to represent the people who gave their lives and did their best to save people...

That was actually my suggestion too
I didn't think of AA or ADF at the time, but I'll add that to the list of people to talk to if I can organize this in time.

Welcome to a community that bases it's games on U.S. themes, and nicknames itself the United States Of Argonath. Also, feel free to realize that just because it was a national tragedy in the U.S. does not mean people weren't affected worldwide. If you don't want to participate, you don't have to. Simple as that. The Argonath Vision even says so.

My thoughts exactly! It was actually a non-U.S. ARFD firefighter that brought it up to me originally, asking if we could do this.

Well like you said, we are an international server, so that means everyone is entitled to their own events and roleplays as long as it doesn't break server rules or laws.

Theres nothing stopping you from not joining in...but bear in mind people joining in will be harsher than usual if you actively try to ruin it, though will still act within server rules.

I like the idea of having a crime free day, but like miniman said, people will try harder to ruin it, you've been here long enough to know what players are like.
