Like a few days ago i pulled over a truck with a trailer on, i'd like to see whats inside it to get some RP, then some officer showed up ofc ruined the RP and told some rules and all that stuff... it was just a vehicle check... i mean.. cmon its for rp, and im sure you dont need a search warrant to search through a vehicle.

2. You do actualy need a search warrant unless the person agrees to it, OR there is probable cause.

IC/OOC has literally produced a wave of elitist players who moan about everything- the most infamous being the Anti Freecop Moaners.
 
It was not there from the very beginning... it only arose after a bunch of players wanted to come up with a standard for the ZOMG realistic RP.
 
Enforcing it is disallowed as it is one of the things that threaten to eradicate the originality, uniqueness, and imaginativity of Argonath Role Play.

IC/OOC principles is not responsible for creating a wave of elitist players. Instead, it is the players who have interpreted the principles in the wrong way. If we labelled IC/OOC principles as the core problem behind complaining, moaning and groaning, we are sending out the wrong message. For example, prestigious clans like Rstar, AV and WS all use IC/OOC and we all know they are not the troublesome minority.

To a certain degree, we also use IC/OOC in traditional Argonath RP. However, it is up to the respondent whether they can distinguish the difference where in many cases they can and cannot. For example, I can RP in /ad as well as talk OOC'y:

Which /ad is IC/OOC and which one is the traditional Argonath RP /ad?

I can understand why the golden era of players is concerned with IC/OOC becoming a predominant force in this community. I'm confident that in time, IC/OOC will disappear and be replaced with a new, agile and more adaptable style combining a bled of the Argonath traditional RP as well as IC/OOC. We can already see evidence of this taking place through activity in Rstar, AV and WS. In particular, I have also spotted players like Jcstodds, [Rstar]Razor and many more using minor IC/OOC principles such as putting one bracket at the end instead of using four brackets.

I apologize, Frank, but I have to criticize your view there. For someone who made it to a Community Leader position, you appear very supportive of this scum that threatens our community by challenging the imagination and creativity that has always been the backbone of Argonath.
 
Ever since its inception, IC/OOC has created players who have emerged to be arrogant, self-centered elitists who have looked down with a disdainful eye on those that do not use their standard as inferior and non-roleplayers. It was a standard of different rules drawn up by the ZOMG roleplayers who sought to enforce ultra-realism on their "Hardcore Roleplay" servers, and the rest is history.

Making the reader focus on the "IC/OOC", while both /ad's you exampled are not advertising a business, so they're not actual ads. Maybe try giving better examples where I can't pick on any detail irrelevant to your point

So far it only proves the point that IC/OOC is used to confuse others and get away with things.


Using "IC/OOC" does not matter if marked with 1, 2, 4, 16, 65536, 528244 brackets or by (misused) /em, however you mark it - it's still using it. Only way I'm not against is when it's completely unmarked and done in your head.

It's not that damn hard to see the difference if someone's talking as the character in-game or as the player in front of his keyboard and monitor...

JDC - like many other groups in Argonath, AV has also adapted their roleplay style to accommodate others. Whilst I cannot think of any names in particular at this moment, I will keep my eyes open and report back to Grizzy if need be. Argonath has made its stance very clear to IC/OOC. The rules state that IC/OOC is tolerable but not enforceable. For example, groups are allowed to use IC/OOC inside their internal structure but prevented from enforcing it outside this circle through rightful resistance. This is to maintain the underpinning value of Argonath RP.

It's also wrong to label all IC/OOC players as arrogant and elitists. I have encountered many who are very genuine, friendly and ready to embrace other forms of RP. Bear in mind that some of the current moderators and admins use IC/OOC in their many forms of roleplay. Unlike many of you - my stance remains neutral and do not consider IC/OOC to be advantageous nor a threat to our community.

From what I gather, the owners have assessed the threat of IC/OOC and have concluded there is no requirement to make it a rule set in stone.  All those who continue to detest this practise including you JDC must accept the fact there is no rule outlawing IC/OOC. In turn you and others continue to accept jeopardising your stance and position within the community in line with Argonath rules.
