As for IC/OOC, we do not care as long as people do not treat it as "better". If we would ever have to make a rule on it, the rule wil be to forbid the use.

This is going in my signature. Thank you.

If RLRP players leave it is because they can not handle RP.

Sorry but.  LOL LOL LOL LOL .... it carries on.

They need a big set of rules, and things that give them money automatically, as the concept of earning money through work is alien to them.

Big set of rules, oh so wrong.
No it's people who can't roleplay to aquire money that need it given automatically - i.e Players who ask for paydays constantly and lottos.
No it's alien to players who can't think anywhere outside of - Cop, Medic, Fireman and Driver.

REPLICA.

This.
I remember when a player would ask "How to earn money?" other would reply " RP something like ... or join police". Now, its "How to earn money?" , answer is " /jobhelp"
That is the answer they get.

@Phantom
So you think the problem is the players asking how to earn money or is the problem the answer they get from regular players?

Also you forgot the second sentence in your sig-quote.

Play for fun and friendship, not for stats or achievements.
If you do not want to roleplay, log off. Remember that "do not force RP" does NOT mean you can refuse to interact with other players.

Yes, I am aware of my signature. I will explain it further as you read.
What bothers me is how the regulars answer, and how they treat newcomers.
They don't encourage them to think "outside of the box" - /jobhelp.

I remember SA:MP 1.1. Everyone knows everyone. Everyone is friendly to anyone.
Now, its just small groups/fistful of people who socialize and its harder to fit into.

That is why a lot of people moan that RP died on Argonath. Which is totally wrong.
First, they need to start RPing with everyone, and if they go on that damn /hduty and see a message "XXXX has joined the server ...greet him ..... location The Strip, LV" - pick him up. Don't just be a robot and say "Hey use this and this and this".

We need more of that.

Grizzy, I understand where you are coming from but the point I'm trying to relay to you involves tolerating another form of RP which has been misrepresented by a troublesome minority. Alongside you, I too have played SA:MP since the beginning and share the same values, principles and traditions which characterise our traits. There is no issue with you outlawing it clan/group side, however you must bear in mind that you cannot unequivocally demand the other party to covert to Argonath RP as they cannot expect you to convert to IC/OOC. The same applies to all and is open to interpretation and adjustment where relevant.

Since Gandalf's clarification on the subject of IC/OOC, I can only hope this will become the final chapter in the book. Bearing this in mind, Jamal, Luigi, Void and others should not use this as leverage or betterment on others otherwise the rules are always open to review as indicated. Both parties should now demonstrate restraint and resist the temptation of engaging 'battalions' waging wars on each other.

Though much is taken, much abides; and though we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

.
TL;DR
Saying "f**k you" in /l and being punished for it by an admin is NOT the right time to use "IT WAS IC." The right time to do that is when you are apologizing to the player. The player will usually feel much better after you tell them the insult was not directed at them personally, but not all the time! If you MUST flame in IC, I offer this advice. Either:
1. Make a mutual agreement with you and the flamed.
OR
2. Don't do it AT ALL.
If you can't possibly do number 2, make the flame look harmless! Example:
"I'm going to f**king kill your whole entire family, you retarded f**king bastard of a bitch" some people I know would be going "ROFL" at that, but not everybody will do that!
Of course, this is a HIGHLY offensive remark. You can easily make it harmless by swapping some words with silly words... like
"I'm going to 'feed' your family some 'mashed potatoes', you silly dilly goose!"
Feed - kill
your family some 'mashed potatoes' - kill your whole entire family
you retarded f**king bastard of a bitch - you silly dilly goose!
Often, swapping words with harmless ones makes the statement more hilarious! When I want to call someone a f**king retard in the main chat, I just say "you silly goose!" instead of "you f**king retard." It often results in some minor lols.
And even shorter TL;DR:
IC is NOT an excuse to flame in Argonath RPG. Flaming is COMPLETELY intolerable for good reasons. "IT WAS IC" should only be used in apology, not in defense to admin punishment, as it's for the other player's sake, not yours.. Mutual agreements to flame in IC often results in a MUCH better outcome than what would have happened without the agreement.
And the people who use "IT WAS IC" to actually try to defend themselves from admin punishment deserve a ban for complete ignorance, in my opinion. But Argonath doesn't ban ignorance.
Is the tl;dr supposed to stay long? urdoinitwrong.

Excellent speech my friend...
Though, there are people who "helps" newcommers to, let's say, "rank up" and by that I mean gaining status admired by the whole community, in common words: hypocritism.
Those who keeps critizing and telling us how to act, how to do not act, how we help newcommers, how we do not help. once again, to gain status.
""Real heroes are anonymous" (inb4 btard) As an example of this, we can see a family called: Gulucan - Known for beeing deathmatchers, rulebreakers and cheaters but noone looks at the "bright" side, as they're recruiting newcommers into their family and teaching them the basics, making them stay with us and they're disrespected everyday.
In my opinion, those "non-respected-families" are the good ones, and not those who keeps posting in threads telling us we need to help newcommers.

I RPed with some Gulucan members. They are dudes, who want to play, just like you and me do.
They are called DMers by who? Same those players that don't want to RP rather than pump their statistics.
I've seen some individuals saying "gulululuululu" and different indirect jokes about their family. Remo made a topic, added a members list. He is trying to survive among sea of other groups, isn't he?

When I was a newcomer, I attended one of those Carhartt shows, when he recruited newborn IG rappers to diss-track Solonik, SAPD etc.  :D
Some events you pass here, decide whether you like it here or not. Lets make it better for each other, because players are those who dictate the server atmosphere.

Stated before and I will state it again...

IC/OOC is not a style of roleplay, it is a set of rules from other servers.
You are not supposed to bring rules from other servers here.
So when you endorse IC/OOC, you condone the bringing in of rules from other places.
We don't bring our rules there, so don't bring theirs here.

@Pablo and Jamal:
- Grow some common sense then come back.

Both of you and Giac may be moaners... but the difference between him and the both of you is that Giac knows exactly what he is moaning about and actually wants what is good for the community, whereas both of you are moaners who merely shit on everything, this community, and the people who defend it.

If we ever get the green light from the High Administration to clear the server of moaners, I wonder where both of you will end up...

The most important part is interacting with others and meeting people from around the world.

OK, how about we add questions upon entrance in the server which you must answer in order to play.
Like what is IC/OOC, is it supported, say a quote from Argonath Vision, number at least 2 admins, number a few rules etc...

All your problems will be solved!
Or better yet, limit the player slots to 30-40.

Oh wait ...
Acting like a tyrant won't help you in your cause. Freedom of role play is what attracts people here.

To sum it up:
Freedom = something you don't like = people automatically shit on the server.
Very nice policy, If I may say.

Look what you did there. Again an idea to make quizzes and restrictions to players. But it wasn't JDC who proposed - it was YOU.

And even freedom has its limits.

That's paradox.

You can limit your freedom, but freedom can't have it's limits.
