ok now after Audistarr has told me that ACDC is not a rock band (bull) so i made this poll to see what the people think to finish this once and for all.

I took this out of a guitar lesson/interview with Angus Young and Malcom Young from AC/DC (1988):

Guitar World: You and the rest of AC/DC have been slandered for your simple songs. Some people call you pop because of the way you compose and how most songs have a catch phrase. To clear this up, why not tell us your inspirations and how those fuse with what you write.
AY: We were introduced to rock and roll when we were younger in the mid '50s, by Elvis Presley, Fats Domino, and Chuck Berry. These guys were the foundation and creators of Rock 'N' Roll. That was our inspiration. Rock 'N' Roll. But it's our way of expressing Rock. Listen to Elvis then listen to us. Two different sounds. We created something different and that's what makes us so diverse. We aren't rock, we aren't blues rock, we aren't pop, we are AC/DC.

There you have it. From the guitarist himself, he explains that you cannot clump music together like that. If you have to...like i said, use their inspiration then say the band name. Ac/Dc Rock. When you say rock, anyone who actualy listens to real rock thinks of Elvis and Chuck berry. I agree, I put it as rock up there, because it is their inspiration, but they are not calling themselves rock. So you can get votes from a bunch of guys who play VC every night or listen to Angus young himself.

You just heard it from Angus himself. So shut up and listen to the guy who is actually behind the music. What do you know about music anyways? What's your experience? What do you know about Rock? What about AC/DC? I've been listening to them for 10 years man. I personally agree with Angus and know they are not ROCK. THEY ARE AC/DC. They are their own sound. You being an australian should be so effing proud to have such a great band be under their own genre. But no, you have to clump them in ROCK. lmao, so much for pride.

Of cos Elvis Presley and AC/DC are VERY different sounded...
But... Every musician knows what kind of stuff has EVERY style of music... That can be beat, leading guitar, etc.

The situation he was talking about was that they were counted in rock-n-roll stuff as one of... And they think they are not ONE OF... Cos they are original, weird, something special the USUAL rock-n-roll for people... Here is interview that can help you understand Young better... )))))))))

Has the AC/DC sound changed much since its early days with Bon Scott to the rebirth of the band with Brian Johnson? What's different about it now and what's remained the same?

Young: The style of the music is still the same. We still play hard rock or rock and roll music. That's what we started with and we still play it now. We just try to find new ways of presenting it, and for us, that's always a challenge - to come up with a new idea, turn it into AC/DC and still retain that style.
