It will be removed...

You found paradise in Argonath. You had a good game, you made good friends. The admins protected you and there were courts of law. So you didn't need a friend like me. Now you come and say "Aragorn, give me justice." But you don't ask with respect.

Gregersen: A guy who, as he says, decided to stay in Argonath because of the hand I gave to him in the beggining. I feel responsible for him and I am very proud watching how huge progress he's achieved. Proud like for my son :)

Perhaps this gift made Gvardia group think they are somehow different from others and stand on a higher rank positions... I would like to break this statement - no...
Actually, we do not think we're superior because of two objects and no more than 10 lines of code. We see this gate as a special gift granted to us in exchange for a sacrifice that I'll get onto later.
5. The clan wars
Now about one issue I would like to talk... After becoming active I found out one not pleasant situation... Somehow Gvardia mafia got a permission to set the gates on their territory... I would like to ask - why? Why from all mafias only this one got such a gift? i will not start to talk about history of this decision... I will just point one moment - either all groups can have such possibility or Gvardia should lose their one...
To answer your question, it involves a multitude of answers. A minor one is that we've been asking for well over a year, but on the more serious side, we've had to make a few sacrifices. To be quite honest, our group was beginning to go less and less stable over the months. Frank and Gimli had worked together for this, and we worked out a deal. For the gates, we had to get our asses into gear and stabilize our group. I personally had to sacrifice the most. I had to surrender my care-free attitude, as it was causing some sort of mayhem within the server, and seriously kick my ass into gear. The group and I had managed to do so, and in exchange, got to keep our gift.

So far, no other group who has asked for a gate or any of that sort has been willing to work out a deal with the developers and administration behind this.

This gate to us has more sentimental value than you think. This isn't just some super-duper-cool-awesome-leet thing for us. It taught some of us some respect towards the administration. You might be thinking, "Why would you like someone because of a gift they gave you?" It's not about the gift. It's about the fact that they cared to listen to us and be able to work something out. It's about respect towards one another.

I do not dissent any other groups from getting a gate. I do, however, dissent that they get a gate just because they asked for it. I HIGHLY dissent if they get a gate and they just go "lol kool gate" and don't think anything of it. The gate for us was a sign of "We care, Gvardia" to us. And what we did in return was a sign of "We care, too" to them.

Anyway, well written, Aragorn. It's always great to learn a little history. Yes, even Argonath's history. I've learned quite a bit about you from this post, in a good way.

I liked reading it, was fun to see how different things are now.

but one thing.. people who say 'oh my god the past argonath was so much better i want it back so bad i hate this kind of time' - Sad... You do not like how the server is now? How about you fix it instead of complaining and moaning? And ITs even funnier when the person turns around and says to some 'Stop moaning/complaining and fix it yourself' ... its very sad, especially when this comes from Older players.. I have seen new players, not even a month in the server, acting better than so called 'veterans' of the server (this isn't to the group =AV= if anyone thinks that.. I am talking about playersa individually.) think they are so great to boss the other players around, when they need the reality check that they could have a better attitude than they have now.

Thank you for writing this though, especially liked the part of 'RM' group, sounds like the group to be in if you had a choice.

The veteran players have that stance for a reason...we are dedicated to the Argonath Vision and try to uphold it best we can. Even newer players that "act better than the veterans" may still not follow the Argonath Vision.

As for RM....you weren't around when their downfall occured...

It's intresting to heard about the other clans of the old days (mta:vc generation) since I only had experience from the =AV= part.
However what Aragorn wrote was truth. There was less moaning on mta:vc because we could handle it on our own.

And sadly to say, most people will not understand unless they have played in that timeperiod (2006-2007) in mta:vc.
What we can do, is get mta:vc more active in some sort of way. And trust me, if you ever get the chance to see how Argonath used to be in the "old" days, your view on the vision will be that much different. Trust me, I rarely got reports about dminger even tough there could be 5 people wreaking havoc, that is something other mta:vc admins can testify on.

Aragorn, it's always intresting to hear what you have to say, my old friend.  ;)
(Btw I remember when you employed me and some others in 2005 for an movie project at one of the rooftops in mta:vc, do not forget the positive things we had back then since we can learn from it, even tough we both can agree on that the old stuff back then with, you know what, was not that really good)

Life has been a fucking hell recently, including accepting what has happened to me in the past. Dunno if life will ever get better but at the least I'm still hanging on. Lol.

The history of getting gates for Gvardia is different from what I heard...
And has nothing  with the deal of Gimli with Gvardia to stabilize the group...
Gimli did the scripting, Frank Hawk worked out the deal.

Sorry for the word mix-up, I didn't mean stabilize in that way. I meant have more control over our members, as many of them (including myself at the time) had a bad habit of rulebreaking (in my case, constant usage of caps).

I think Frank Hawk kind of convinced Gimli for it to happen so I'd be one less pain in the ass for him

Any-hoo, I do not object any other group getting the gates. Them taking it for granted is what would set me off.
:ps: what history did you hear about our gates?

Whoever decided to give gates to Gvardia, just ignored the developers opinion and made Gvardia that special... I dunno what was the plan of deal but I have to brake the "idea" like "Gvardia we care"...
We care not only about Gvardia... That is why I said the ways: either all have gates or none...

What made Frank Hawk to give advantage over other groups - not in my interest to dig even...

And lets drop it... Before i did not tell my opinion in the straight manner I am famous for...

:ps: what history did you hear about our gates?
My history is that I have been denying Gvardia the gates for a long time.
Not because I am against Gvardia or them having a gate. But because if we give Gvardia a custom object, either we will have to give it to all groups who ask, or to have a good reason who is and who is not allowed to get one. When starting as community leader Frank Hawk did not take this in to account.
It was not his fault as he was not used to the habit of people that if they are denied by one person, they go to the next person and try to get what they want there.
The reason Gvardia kept the gates was that we did not want to embarass Frank on one of his first actions, and because of the A.R.U.N. concept that would allow a restriction in the number of groups that would be given something. However if there would have been consultation before placing the object, Gvardia would not have gotten the gate at all.

Do not roleplay a veteran on discord, be a veteran in game.

I've personally got nothing against gvardia getting a gate, It fits the property but I do agree that it annoyed most other groups as we began to wonder what it was we'd done wrong to not deserve such a gift. Thanks for clearing It up as now I know the real story.
