I decided to post this topic long time ago but had no time... As you may notice we are reconstructing this part of our community forums and for that are many reasons... Also I will put some of my opinions, which I was not publishing yet but lets start from the beginning...

1. Argonath Teaming (History)


Teams of players played a big role in Argonath life... First of all Argonath RPG was founded and supported by Rock Stars clan (=MS= at that time)... After inactivity of most its players clan got the second life with "new blood" in it... Clan had as the best fighters so the best roleplayers and atmosphere in it was incredibly friendly... But even Rock Stars were all admins it did not spoil its relations with the new players on the new-founded server...

The first clan which sticked to Argonath RPG was =RM= clan (not the nowadays [RM] or whatever tags it has now)... It happened that this clan members were all banned from the other RPG server (those times were only two RPG servers on MTA:VC) and they moved to our one to test what is it...

Those times Argonath had a dark times of flamers and provokers from the competitors server, and we needed the high amount of admins, especially our night time zone... But as all players were new we could not give admins rights to everyone who asks for it...

=RM=clan was not asking for admins rights... They were a deathmatch clan who liked the RPG idea on MTA:VC... And I decided to talk to them... I invited them to the Vercetti Estate and had a long talk... The deal was simple... I give them a try as admins clan, and from their side needs to protect server against flamers and hackers in the night time zone...
I know that sounds incredibly immature... But i gave a try to this deal...

How was it going on after? =RM= stood as a defense wall against Argonath competitors... They were on duty almost all nights... They handled themselves the inside clan arguing and protected players with all responsibility... One of them, =RM=_Empire made an Argonath rap song as veterans remember as a gift to the friendship...

So... As you see, ArgonathRPG admins team was started from Deathmatching clan... But the good relations and some credits of trust made this guys the great admins of server...

One of the first roleplay groups was a group of Beni Kowalski... I do not remember the first its name (Beni had a habbit of multiple groups running and was operating it amazingly good), but one of its names was =TS= (The Scorpions)... Beni created mafias and business groups, he tried all roles and all players who were willing to join a group...

Of cos we had fight with him and his group... The reason: too much deathmatchers... But Beni was the first who allowed the noobs (new players) to be involved in Argonath's life... From Beni they were learning the server's rules, the server's possibilities in business and participating in events...
Beni with all his dm-ing members those times did much more then those who announced themselves roleplayers, coming to us and criticizing our players, admins team and asking for admins rights to handle this "OMFG too much dmers!" issue...

2. Old Argonath Clans

Of cos I can name them...

That are: "Argonath Veterans" (those times Almighty Veterans I think as we did not allow them to use Argonath name those dark age s of between servers wars), "New Skills", "White Shadow"... This were the first stable Argonath clans which managed to be the top clans of portal... In future this clans played the great role in handling the Argonath RPG sa:mp server and its community...

And I thank the multiplayer god that this clans were born and educated on MTA:VC server because the amount of hackers and deathmatchers of SA:MP community beat all MTA:VC amount of players... Nowadays Argonath sa:mp server is nearly the paradise for roleplayer... You cannot imagine what was those days: deathmatch chaos... We almost had not time for roleplay, we were camping at the spawn places to stop the deathmatching as faster as possible plus every minute - 20 cheaters... But we survived... And all thanks to this clans and trusted Argonath supporters-players...

This clans were grown on the old and first Argonath vision... Their members were not crying about every dmer they saw, or hacker, attacked them with minigun... They were not crying about spawnkilling, that was taken place in the first sa:mp version... They were not setting the new rules of who can be a cop and who cannot be a cop... This clans were the most easy to cooperate with... And in many things this clans were those you can thank for that atmosphere of fun on server you probably remember...

My opinion:
Yes, it can sound cruel, but SA:MP community (and here I mean San Andreas Multiplayer not our server) was and is the way different from us those times, people, who had fun more then moaning, who were not thinking about rising amount of restrictions and were handling mostly themselves, who were roleplaying ANY situation without demanding of special scripts for that, who were not waiting for questions from new players but were suggesting help themselves, were not afraid to take the noob with them in a car and show the city without "pfft thats a noob i will be bored"...

This is why many of you liked Argonath and sticked to it...

3. Argonath RPG teams, new wave - SA:MP Age...

The SA:MP Age - the Age of Montana and Corleone Families... This two mafias were with us on MTA:VC and still are here... I am really thankful to them for their trust to us and friendship... Montana Family turned to the FBI... I still remember our meeting with them in San Fiero Cathedral (From Government side: Aragorn and Legolas)... That was the choice of trust...

Should I tell you how many complains were on Montana and Corleone once they registered officially? There were fights, warnings to groups, arguing with admins team... But we survived this time also... And we are still all together...

My opinion: Mafias gained a lot of members into community, because they were not denying the newbies, and by that they were involving new players into community (that I said and decided to repeat here as well, in the Montana Age)... We can argue with groups, we can demand from them to be perfect roleplayers, but if we would really do that - we would not have any player nowadays and sit just three clans picking up our noses, denying every noob that does not know all our rules...

4. Argonath RPG rules

There was no a lot of rules... Basically we based the rules around one and main - respect our players... It already supposes "no flame/troll, no forcing roleplay, no shitting server" etc. This rule was the base for player to understand what is Argonath... With sa:mp developing the community started demanding the new and new rules, making the whole "Bible for Roleplayer"... After that went even more far - special scripts for controlling players to play by this Bible... Somehow sa:mp players wanted to make Argonath the server of 1000 rules with 5000 restrictions... In such model of "perfect roleplay" no any mafia or other group fitted...

My opinion: by making more and more rules to clans (means mafia clans) we are killing the possibility of players to have a chance of getting know Argonath closer... While player is new and have to learn more about server, admins got 1000 reports on him... Groups can handle it better as providing the server rules to new members in a form of roleplay...

Where can be problem? Only in the leadership of the group, when leaders themselves shit all and everything and have no clew what is allowed and what is not... But in that case we also watch - if the group leadership is young or not...


You found paradise in Argonath. You had a good game, you made good friends. The admins protected you and there were courts of law. So you didn't need a friend like me. Now you come and say "Aragorn, give me justice." But you don't ask with respect.

5. The clan wars

When I was back active I spent a lot of time on server to see the situation by my own eyes... I got on spectating the interesting clan war between Stracci and Ancelotti... I was interested in how two families will handle it... And to my surprise they were doing it in a decent way... I did not hear any flame to each other or provokes like "Stracci suck - Ancelotti suck more" etc. It started decent and both groups managed to finish the war in the same decent way without respawn leading it to the non-endless war...

"Wow! Guys are great! - I thought... I was happy and already that time I wanted to write the topic with thanks to all groups of Argonath and mentioning this clan war as well as the example of the perfect roleplay clan war...

Good that I did not do it, because then I would look like idiot... I found out the worst clans relations I ever saw... More even, this two clans hate each other and still contact... Of cos it leads to flame... Of cos flame born a new flame... and now it is already non-stopable hate...

Lets move to the ancient times - the Old Age of Argonath... When Rock Stars were "invited" to the clan war by the clan of competitors... As they provoked me, I said "no problem"... As i was not the leader at that time I contacted the founder... We were talking privately and long... In the end he told me to deny this "invitation"... If clan invites to compete the other clan with hate and aggression, nobody will win that war... I remember those words even nowadays... and he was right...
If your clan wins this "lets see who suck, retards!" competition - what he gains from that? Fun? no...
He gains the revenger... And next time this clan can be "pwned" by the revenger... It will increase bullshit between each other... And will not have the end...

I hope some of the groups will find for themselves something from this point...

6. Argonath Teaming Modern Age

How can be all this groups which are in fight with each other call themselves "Argonath Community"???
The worst handling the between groups relations I ever saw on Argonath... And it looks like some groups are doing it in purpose to destabilize the clan institute on portal, the Institute which was created and handled long time by such grands like Rock Stars, Argonath Veterans, White Shadows, Montana, Corleone...

I specially visited several of the biggest mafias on Argonath these days... And surprisingly they are all nice and cool when separated... I liked the inside clans discipline between members... I was amazed of the friendly Koltsov guys, who gave me a parking place for my Party Truck (for money of cos  :lol:), strong Corleone roles for each member (each member knew good their tasks), A great relations inside Gvardia members, great fighting skills of Stracci guys... Separated you guys all rock... But to set you all in one room - you will bite each other to death...

The flame and provokes on forums are already out of limits...

7. Advantages of groups

Now about one issue I would like to talk... After becoming active I found out one not pleasant situation... Somehow Gvardia mafia got a permission to set the gates on their territory... I would like to ask - why? Why from all mafias only this one got such a gift? i will not start to talk about history of this decision... I will just point one moment - either all groups can have such possibility or Gvardia should lose their one...

Perhaps this gift made Gvardia group think they are somehow different from others and stand on a higher rank positions... I would like to break this statement - no... And the nearest future we will decide - either we will remove gates from their territory or we will allow other gangs have their own... If the second one - I can already say at once - Stracci and Koltsov will have all rights to set the gates on their territory...

8. Argonath RPG United Nations

Either people did not get my idea correct or just decided to use it for creating the new roleplay group...
Anyways... ARUN is not supposed to be a roleplay group or having advantages over other groups... It cannot have HQ in game, money in game, or rank system, like managers and advisors...

So what is the ARUN?
From each old and big group (clans+roleplay teams) each leader gets invitation to the United Nations...
The United Nations will handle the problems between clans, between clans and their members (leaving issue for example - some groups demand money back etc. - in this case ARUN is a Court place for such issues), clan wars (reasons and conclusions how better to organize it) and so on...

It is only for developing purposes, does not need to be in game, does not need to have ranks... Every clan or group that wants to solve problem with outside and inside situations will have all rights to request the help from ARUN...

9. Groups Registration

We will remove the registration of groups by servers, as it is nonsense that each group either must register on every server or demand to remove the equall tags/names from the groups on other Argonath servers... So groups registration will be handled as clans registration with no difference... With that groups will be moved to its own board (which you already saw i think)...

The board will have an option... If the group topic will not be active for 3 (three) months (90 days), such group topic will go to archive... This will decrease the amount of one-day registration clans and will keep the board only with the current active groups...

The moving of topics will be started tomorrow...

Nice one,

From what people like Dave and Brad have told me, The SA:MP server was once a nice and friendly place to play one.

I think its a shame that that had to change, Im hoping IV:MP can be a clean start from the moaning and rulebreaking.

Gregersen: A guy who, as he says, decided to stay in Argonath because of the hand I gave to him in the beggining. I feel responsible for him and I am very proud watching how huge progress he's achieved. Proud like for my son :)

Heh, Grz and I try our best to make sure that the members of =AV= follow the MTA:VC way, in our eyes - the proper way of Argonath RPG.  Might explain why so many =AV= members went onto to become part of RockStars and hold pretty high community positions - xcasio and Indigo.
As for the past...yeah, camping at spawns as admins banning hackers, deathmatchers etc...wasn't fun at all.

Example (note the amount of admins online, on the scene and the sheer amount of rulebreakers:

You thought today was bad? Most of you say "This isn't 2007" "2007 sounded calm compared to this" - it wasn't. 2007, the opening year, was one of the worst by far...the people who made it through that year and remained at the community, although not many of us, still try out best to help out and make sure that the community remains stable...
Question our loyalty and dedication if you want - but four years of the above...isn't that enough?

I agree with mostly everything you said, We have good and bad things.. yet I believe if we team up we can fight and win the problem.. solving it.
As regarding the thing with A.R.U.N, It does have an HQ set in game :P
