The use of guns in RP, Guns + RP.

Firstly I'd like to say Guns are bad, lets keep it within the server  (to save me from editing my thread; lets persume knives, katanas etc come under "guns"  )


Secondly, I'd like to start a healthy debate regarding the use of Guns in RP and how guns can be used other then for killing people, in terms of rp.

In respect to the debate topics, I would like to start by saying the intended use of Guns for RP can be done successfully. I personally use the County rifle to hunt animals - obviously not by myself, usually if with a pack of hunters in red county - I sell game(deer, zebras etc) in my rp farm.

Although Guns where made to primarily kill, I think guns can be used in other ways then just killing.
For example;

• Gun salutes
• Target practice competitions - what's the target? - with prizes?
• Power drills*drills hole into plank of wood on floor* /bomb with deagle in hand
• using knifes to cut stuff - other then people

Also, people should always think of the RP when using guns, no?

About 80% of the time I do not have any guns on me, and I usually R a freecop (as that allows me to check on suspect reasons and increases my chat spam  )

So yeah... guns are just a tool that is fun to have sometimes but not needed at all.

For the past two weeks the only weapons I've used are Pump Shotguns, Colt45's and Mic's (with the odd Ak47 thrown in for big deals.)
It's unbelievable how well people respond to RP weapons, in comparison to the times where I'd pull out a combat for a robbery and they'd just yell DM.

in Mafia RP, guns are just about how you look as how you shoot.

Nearly every day that I play. Gvardia has adopted an un-official gun salute many months ago. If anyone's ever roleplayed with me, they might notice I use a knife for something other than slitting their throats.

I sometimes RP a Special Agent with (RPed) gadgets, wich are not guns.

Sometimes, I carry around one bullet of a sniper rifle when I don't actually use it, just for RP purposes.

I don't need guns. Fat bank minus and 3k in hand, no vehicle/house or any property whatsoever, then clothes on me.

I gave it all away so I can RP a hobo. Sometimes, I carry a mace(to protect myself from black people)
