Long ago when there was much less money going around, players organised events where those taking part had to pay an entry fee. Prizes and staff were paid from the entry fee, with the owner earning a little from the remaining money.
Lets see how many people will arrive now if they have to pay to take part...

I remember that  :roll: We orgenised many events that way... and we had much more fun... There was much more competition, and not only the goal "to prize".

My whole point was you dont "Need" Money so try using it to make others happy... the person who does that is selfless and understands that the amount of $ you have dosen't make you...

We understand you, and agree.... while people think as server owner we can spawn whatever money we want, actually I do not have more than 100k on my account... most from paydays while I am on server...

Most cash I had at a moment was 250k, do I ask for paydays? No. Do I beg for lottos? No. Do I ask people to donate me for AIDS children in Africa? No. The point here is I spent my money on stuff I needed, not supercars or 500k houses. I bough guns, food, a bike and a small house. Try to be happy with what you got, don't ask for more!

Some people enjoy making money. Who said roleplaying can't make you money? I roleplay every day and I earn a fortune from it. I've got like 3mil of my money in other peoples pockets because there's only so much you can do with it. If you want money, fine, but atleast play a character to get it. That way everyone can enjoy it.

I don't know but what you might consider a stupid topic is apparently liked by others. Once again a reason why we only care of the opinions of friends, family, and co-workers.

I will not lie, I am one of the ones that find money one of the most important things on Argonath (ingame). Whether anyone would like to admit it or not, it is for at least half of us. When I joined the server, I can remember dreaming of having a turismo and a nice house. A good old friend called Lionz helped me out the most in SA:MP when I was starting out, and I very clearly remember buying my first unowned car I found (the huntley that spawned by LSPD) and then going on MTA:VC and telling everyone "MUTHAFUCKA I GOT A HUNTLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". :P

From then to now, the 'dreams' have only escalated to dreaming of owning something like Market Ammunation or something similar. Some people may complain about the 'Argonath economy' too, though its simply untrue. The value of money is reasonable. Can you tell me someone who isn't an admin who has $100 million? Can you tell me about someone who owns 50 houses and 100 cars? No one has money that they can simply throw away which just proves that the 'economy' is fine.

Cash or not, I can have fun. Although, this is probably something that accounts for 99% of people here - I have the most amount of fun with money when I can do whatever I want (tune a lowrider for example) and then go shoot down some niggas! I guess my bank balance supports this (I had $880k little over 4 day ago, I now have $117k (no properties/vehicles were purchased either) ).

Those, who have sooo much money.. they tend to say 'money doesn't matter!' , 'Do not worry about money, only RP!' - Yes they are correct... but has anyone noticed anything? I have seen some people who once had a lot of money (400k+) and have lost it all, tend to be more moneyhungry... Why? They have already experienced how when your rich you can virtually get anything you want, and they possible, after having so much money, adapted to it and began to depend on money.

I do agree though that money isnt the most important thing but if osmeone wants to earn it, let them... When it gets to the point when they put money OVER Roleplay, it is getting pretty bad.
