a launcher ?

if u want i would like to make a launcher app for argonath ,  a small app that shows news from the site and launches IVMP to directly connect to argonath rpg , i would love to hear ur opinions in this matter

Hey Darky mate, glad to see you registered.
You can add Argonath RPG IP to Quick launch option.

@Directly connecting to argonath
When you enter LaunchIVMP.exe you are brought to a screen with options such as "Server Browser", "Quick Launch", "Settings" and "Quit".

Choose "Quick Launch" and add this IP to the first field: 178.63.52.144:9999 (Remember to copy the IP before you enter IV:MP, you can simply add it with CTRL+V)

Then press "Connect". The point is, now, every time you enter LaunchIVMP.exe you'll just have to click "Quick Launch" and Voila! You are logging in Argonath

Interesting idea, but can it be added? We need to see.

Well to make such program you need to modify the IVMP program, which is as far as I know under Copyright by IVMP developers.
So, better talk with them first.

i don't need to modify anything i just need to write my own program to use the ivmp client

Well if you want to automatically direct you to the Argonath server, as far as I can see it you have to use the original code - or create your own IVMP. :razz:

Great Topic,

The idea you have would not come off. The reason for this is because we already have the forums, so why would we need to know the news twice. Also as Phantom as mentioned, there is no need for a quicker self entry system system as you can put the IP address of Argonarth's server directly into there! Saves a lot of time and hassle.

Plus you could always ask people about any news!

IV:MP is used under license you aren't allowed to publish something like that without permission which
does change the software of IV:MP or even operate with it.

I really would like to see it But make sure you ask a IV:MP Developer for a permission to do so, or
contact me on MSN and I try to contact a IV:MP Developer for the permissions

Wouldn't work, you'd need to modify or atleast obtain the sourcecode of ivmp, which is almost impossible.

This is pretty much impossible, and it only takes a few extra seconds to paste the IP
