Mexicans vs. African Americans...

Recently, it's come to my attention that some difference in treatment towards racism between two particular groups seems to be justified.

I'd like to start off with the average American racist shit towards both groups, starting with Mexicans. We usually joke Mexicans with "Illegal immigrant" or "taco, burrito" or call them beaners... sure it's hilarious sometimes, and we usually disregard it because it is so fucking hilarious.
Now with African Americans, when you call them n***ers, slaves ('PICK MY COTTON'), or put stereotypes on them (run, shoot, steal, jump), everyone gets all defensive about it, INCLUDING white people (IRONYYY).

I get this information from personal experience (IG and IRL). In game, we often have these "border patrols" targeting Mexicans (in roleplay) for some reason... often using things to "lure" them like "HEY I GOT A TACO!" Often, the Mexican roleplayer gets taken in the police station to check if he's legal, completely wasting his time and against his will (the threat of /su NO COMPLY), even if he actually is legal. Why? Just because he's Mexican, ese. Orale...

Now I personally have joked African Americans for some lulz myself. When I say "Nigga, pick my cotton," then I'm bound to get punished + have people get all defensive like "THAT'S RACIST" when they're not even black. Yeah, this even happens in my personal life, too, so I know it for a fact.

What's so cute about insulting Mexicans with taco and illegal immigrant jokes as opposed to doing slavery and basketball jokes? I dislike the fact that the "border patrols" can get away with discrimination (LOL TACO SO FANI LOL U MEXICAN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT CHEAP LABOR WANNABE AMERICAN), yet I've been banned TWICE for cracking a few nigga jokes (YO N***ER PICK MY COTTON).

When I ask why I can't say "nigga" in main chat, the administrators reply that it might be offensive to some people. What the fuck? How come these guys over here can /ad [BORDER PATROL] WATCH OUT MEXICANS WE GONNA GETCHU ILLEGALS AND PUT YOU TO CHEAP LABOR right in FRONT of your fucking EYES but I can't say a general slang term for "homie"? And YES, I have been WARNED and KICKED for saying "nigga" many times.

I won't pick out any names of those people doing "border patrols", but I will include that one of them is a well trusted administrator.

And before any of you cry moan (seriously, get your own fucking word, that's Aragorn's) like the Ottoman sultan Murad cried when Milos Obilic stabbed him right into his fucking gut, there's one big fucking difference between moaning and stating a conflict that needs resolution - The conflict here is: showing favoritism towards one race than the other. MAYBE NOT INTENTIONALLY, but it still happens.
It's just like my school. They give special programs to African Americans to help further their education as minorities............

Ni*ger is an offensive term.
But I believe "nigga" is not, it's actually a friendly way which shows your effort to do not offend a certain group and that should count positively...
Still, you have a strong point regarding mexicans - it's a completely lack of respect those advertisements and what saddens me the most is that is supported by admins, maybe the same ones who enforce the rule above quoted.
There are persons who preffers to be treated by slang terms than the 'correct' and polite term(they consider it offensive).

I have personally never seen people ingame roleplay as border patrol, and definetly havent seen all that much racist flaming in mainchat in the last year and a half. I think you should just take notice to who you are saying "n*gga" around and that you should make sure they understand its roleplaying. If you're making racist jokes in mainchat, yeah you'll prob get your ass handed to you, there are racially sensitive people and you don't wanna step on anyones toes. Jus keep it to your cb radio or local chat.

There isn't all tha tmuch racism on Argo I think. Yeah, with mexicans maybe mexican people are less racially sensitive, if you are bothered by what people say, then just report. Also, Im just curious why you prefer to say "african-american" instead of black. I know a couple black americans, I don't know anybody from africa.

People needs to start seeing the humor in things, and not scream racism all the time. There are tons of funny black jokes, asian jokes, mexican jokes etc. I even tell black jokes to my black friends, they laugh with me. I dont laugh AT black people, I laugh at the joke.

Sure, someone pops a black joke once in a while, not a problem. I can see it becomes a problem when someone does it the entire time, though. As that might suggest that they are actualy racist and biased towards that certain race.

Things to do if you're being offended by racists:

1) If minorly, like simply "black" or "blackf**k" within RP terms, call the cops and write a case on him.
2) If majorly, like "f**king blackf**k homo which was born in the black blood of his black mother" (oh god, that was terrific), then screenshot and send to administrators.



Section for guys: "I am offended by simply being called black/black".

Well, obviously, if you're offended by one f**king word and need to become the drama queen, how about not looking at anyone or talking to anyone or even breathing near anyone, as people may find it disturbing that you might be a 69 years old pedophile who wants to rape them, or simply they get offended by your low-persona presence, or think you're an aggresive person who needs to solve anger management problems so they keep off.
