Connecting problem

My friend installed everything according to the guides available in this forum but when he tried connecting, it just stopped, so it remains on the "Connecting..." thing and nothing happens. Yes, his computer supports GTAIV and patch is 1.0.07 etc etc.

Yes, he is using the latest beta, I should ask him about the firewall =). Thanks for the help, I will see if that's the problem.

Unfortunately even with Firewall disabled it's not working  .

he is Connecting to the wrong ip adress

The IP doesn't matter, it was just an example on how his screen is when trying to connect. Yes, he has tried on the Argo server and same problem.

Is he connecting from the server list or quick connect with a IP?

I think he is typing the IP and hitting Connect.

Don't forget to add the port in the last you need xx.xx.xx.xx:9999 to gain access

I don't think that's the problem because you can see in the SS that in the end on the IP of the server it says 9999.

Well something must be wrong then, either the client is faulty or your ISP is blocked.

If his ISP is blocked, how will I tell him to unblock it?
