Okay. I'd like to know why the Peaceful Protest at LSAP consisted of a lot of cops and civilians DMing each other/everyone around them for no good reason?
I was kicked for 'moaning' for asking what the point of the massive TDM was so I thought i'd come on here and ask instead. I came to LSAP to see what the mass
population was gathered there for and I was instantly suspected for 'sniping' as I was viewing the situation with my video camera, then I was DMed by both freecops and veteran police officers without as much as a handgun in my inventory. IF anyone knows what the point of this pathetic event was please, I'd really like to know.

This is in no way intended to be a 'moaning' topic, I'd only like to know what the reason for it was.

I'd say that the reason was the small brain capacity or the training they (cops) recieved. Seriously, things like these happen all the time, I'm used to it.. As they say: /gu and ask for investigation.

Frank had the best intention. He coordinated members through CB all the time.
Newcomers cannot be controlled, and you know it. I was watching the event and I have seen how the free officers and protesters act.

Rivens, yo dawg, how about you don't insult free officers? Its bad for your health, you'll get a peptic ulcer.

Cause protests all (or most) end in a shoot-out why protest at the same locations everytime, infact why protest at all do it when the President is online maybe he'll even attend lol.

REPLICA.

Apparently the police came with the intentions of killing the protestors(according to an anonymous police informant.)

I myself witnessed police officers under the supervision of several dutied administrators opening fire on Civilians. I'm only wondering
if this even was an intended TDM or did it only end up like this due to an error from the protestors/cops?

I saw messages from Jcs and a few other officers warning them not to shoot or suspect and pull back.
Tragic really. It happens.

Don't want any problems with cops? Don't protest!

Simple as that

As he said above:

But you are absolutely right. People should be more careful as misunderstandings happen.

I hope some excuse 'But its SRU' or some crap... read my sig.

Should talk to Chiefs about it, obviously some cops did not know the procedure, or just did it to ruin the whole thing.

I believe the point of the excersize was to point out that we had problems with certain cops. I just don't understand why it had to turn out the way it did. I came along(like many others) to protest peacefully.

I've been to about two of these SRU closure protest things, and too be honest some of the members trying to protest, yes indeed they do just fire at cops trying to have fun killing them and dying. But most of them who are doing nothing but just sitting, laying around, or standing, get suspected for *firing* or *sniping and all that. Too be honest I do find these so called *protests* that some of the people fire and ruin it, but not all fire back and yet cops do still murder every orange little thing to they /gu. So really, what's the point of these protests, they end in killing, disaster, and pointless since come on, we all know SRU won't close after we have had about 5 of these protests before.

Note: To get to the point, scroll down.

If I was able to command the cops, I would have encouraged leaving the protesting group alone so they would get bored and disperse, with minimum amount of casualties on all sides. Also, I am a believer that cops create a lot more crime than they prevent usually because of poor decisions or just that they don't know better. Oh, and most cops are sadistic and get fun out of jailing and killing citizens as opposed to helping them (ofc there are a lot of jails and kills that are deserved, but not all).

So lets assess these peaceful protests. A group of civilians form an illegal protest somewhere. Now, most of our cops do have mental issues, in that they want to check and probe civilians randomly to assert their power, even if the said civilian has displayed no suspicious activities at all - we are in the age of the random harassment stops where even the law abiding are pulled over. So just imagine when a whole group of civilians gather! OOoooooh, the cops get really excited.

Chances are there will be some really minor crimes going on cause of the numbers, probability of a bad guy hiding in there is very high. And they are illegal protests remember so cops have their excuse to shoot at least. This is a very delicate situation. One cop or one criminal could start a small war by taking a single potshot. So, the sensible thing you would think would be to try have a small group of cops that are not threatening the civilian groups come and survey the situation. Talk to the protesters, see what they want, try negotiate and convince them to disband and go home, and form a legal protest sometime. If successful, they go home and situation is over.

The next step would be to approach the rioters with melee weapons and organised ranged backup. You don't wanna threaten them too much or they may attack, but you want to have a show of force, at this point, the protesters may be more convinced to give up, or they may attack. If they attack, then you are close enough to start beating them to death, which encourages them to start shooting each other, and this is when your ranged backup is available to start backing you up with guns.

Unfortunately, it is a delicate situation, like I said, and so the sensible thing that SAPD thinks to do, is arm every single cop with heavy weapons, readying to exterminate the civilians. Also, from what I witnessed, it is always more likely the cops will shoot first to provoke the civilians into fighting back. This is bound to happen when you have so many un organised and disloyal players on your side (this is the cop side). So the cops roll up en masse with all these weapons to announce that they just gonna kill the protesters if they don't stop doing their minor crime of protesting (although most protesters probably just bored students). WW3 breaks out.

The point.

Obviously everyone knows from the start the protesters are armed in a non RP way. We know there would be lots of shooting, so SAPD does really have to get prepared. Everyone has a big shootout in a closed area with some very basic RP basis, but lots of teamwork on both sides. Obviously there could be a lot more RP involved, but everyone has a lot of fun and it is not everyday you get to play "in synch" with a team based shootout on such a large scale.

Although I stated above what I would do if I had enough command over cops, what I did in the end was completely different. Nothing else was happening, so I got my tactical vehicle - a packer. After having fun racing millions of SAPD cars through the streets of LS to get to chase all the protesters who were going to LSAP, I decided I would help out and destroy the protesters car barricade, and then pounce with my sword. Although I lagged out for a while and missed all the shooting :P.

So why does it happen? Players have fun, and it is not disrupting others. Has a very basic roleplay element, but most of all involves lots of teamwork which means everyone feels involved.
