GTA IV FATAL ERROR: WS10

I have a problem with GTA 4 Patch 7. So I decided to re install the whole game and remove saved game. I went to control panel and I removed the game, and then I installed GTA 4 and Patch 7. I started the game and it showed me "WS10" error. I re started the computer and I ran the game again but It showed me the same reason again. I made a research on Google and I found the source of the problem is Games For Windows Live, So I ran old setup for GFWL and installed it, but it was the same result. So I went to Games For Windows Live website and I downloaded the latest setup. And I installed it but when I ran GTA 4, It showed me the same error.

By the way, I can remember that problem happened to me in the past and I solved it but I can't remember the solution.

2. Remove everything with name "Microsoft Games for Windows" (blue icon)
3. Launch "Rockstar Games Social Club"
4. There is "Latest Rockstar Social Club News" on the right
5. Download "Games for Windows LIVE" by clicking on the picture with this inscription
6. Install (that's all)

Thanks for the answer. I will try to do what you said later. Anyway that weapon in your sig. is HK416 and you said in your personal message "eat my shiny combat shotgun" which isn't in your sig. :P

If you keep getting these errors often, it might be worth less hassle to you to think about Reinstalling the game without the patches and making sure that it works. It could be the download site that you are getting it from (Patch 1.0.7.0) Could be slightly corrupt. I know the only one that works well that I use is from SoftPedia.com, its a Zip file so make sure you have some unzipping software. If you can patch successfully with the one from their then you know you are on a winner, from there I would suggest IVMP and then give it a try!
The Error you are facing is usually something to do with a corrupted file so before you reinstall make sure that the directly you are installing to is completely empty! It seems GTA IV isnt too stable where mods are concerned, so make sure you have non of these too!

Thank you DellStorm for trying to help me.
I will download patch 7 from that website and I will reinstall whole game which I reinstalled it few days ago, and I want to tell you that I don't use mods for GTA 4 except IV:MP :P
Ops, I almost forgot that the problem is GFWL and If i used a file that stops GFWL the game will start but I don't like these files because it damaged my saved game before. And by the way IV:MP works because it doesn't use GFWL.

I reinstalled my windows for few reasons and I reinstalled GTA 4 and GTA EFLC. And GTA 4 has the same error and EFLC is bugged, I press on start button and I log into GFWL and the game starts to load for ever til I get pissed off and I stop the game by Task Manger, Any ideas?

What is the point of changing the game folder name? I don't use that folder anyway. I install it at 'D:\Games\Grand Theft Auto 4' not 'C:\Programs files\Rockstar\Grand Theft Auto 4'

I reinstalled the windows *Read my other reply* few days ago and my registry got reinstalled so I don't think that it is registry problem since it still not working after reinstalling windows but I have idea. I will reinstall GTA 4 then install it again and install all patchs. Wish me luck lol   :razz:
