My accaount wont log off the server. Help!!

i cant connect to server, cause my name is already there. When i loged in This morning and then crashed my user didnt log out and now i cant connect to server with my user. Only if i change the name. Can someone do something about it to disconnect my user. My username is MartinA.

I'd say pull out the internet cable for about 8 seconds Then plug it back in!

Restarting the router and unplugging the internet didn't help either.

How? Just to know in future if someone has this same problem

It can happen that when you leave server due to crash or /q a ghost stays in. You will see "This nick is already in use" and you get kicked. Admins cannot take any actions against that ghost as no client is behind it that does encript the recieved informations. Only a server restart will remove that ghost player and you can play again.

I too used to have that issue when my connection dropped or game crashed, I probably still have that, I take it that it is a client bug, and not a game bug which I initially thought.
