Argonath does not, in any way, support the use or distribution of pirated copies of games.

Recently alot of questions regarding piracy have been asked on this board, aswell in Hardware/Software support.

Please do not ask other members for help if this regards support to pirate a game, support to find a crack, or if the game runs online without need of a legal copy, these kind of questions are to be removed immediatly and you might have a risk that actions might be taken against you.

Save yourself a lot of trouble and headaches, buy your games legal at your preferred gamestore.

Just to add an un-official note.
Try before you buy can be a good method, but if you like a game and are going to spend a lot of time playing it, the least you can do is reward the developers for their work by buying the original.

Remember that without people buying games, the developers can not afford to renew their products and bring them up to date with the latest technology.

Finally if you are going to do something illegal, don't bother others with it and use your brain.

Do not roleplay a veteran on discord, be a veteran in game.

Nice one, and good point Ryan

I have a disc, but it is badly scratched so will not install the game.

Would you consider it illegal to download it now?

Cause I ain't paying more than the disc is worth to fix it

I installed my original GTA:SA on my old PC. I think it still has it on it, but my CD got cracked when I dropped a stack of DVDs ontop of it!

Clean it with alcohol. Add the alcohol on a piece of cotton, wait for 1 minute till it dissolves and then slide through the CD a bit.
Helped me many times. I believe there is a special mixture just for scratched CD/DVD-s

No.
You purchased the license already, that is what you paid for.

As long as you own the cd-key for the game it's not wrong to download the game.

I personally download and crack all my games because I don't have a working CD drive and can't really be bothered to fix it, yet my games are all legally purchased.

I do not consider it illegal as you already own the game, and you have customer rights to it already.

Piracy isn't good, and never will be. Piracy to me is just simply for people who can't be bothered saving up to buy it, so they decide to stay in their seat and wait for it to download rather than go outside to the game store.

The criminal charge in piracy is usually not from the actual pirating of the game itself.. at least that's not what they make you pay for most of the time. The reason you get caught and have to pay is because if you're using file sharing software like BitTorrent you're helping others download it as well, which is considered as putting the file up and illegally distributing it.

So, even if you download a game you own through one of these websites, it is still illegal, even if you already own the game.
