IV:MP - Installation Guide

Uninstall IVMP, GTA IV and all of it.

To start off, install GTA IV, then patch it to 1.0.7.0.
Then run the game, open single player to setup the game,
After you have opened Single player then close the game,
Proceed to installing IVMP T3 client, after you have done that, restart the PC.
If IVMP wont open then go look for a file called xliveless on google, install that into your games folder.

Problems should be solved with starting up.

I've literally done all of that pretty much but it couldn't hurt to do it again.

When I reinstall it and start it up it auto updates so I don't need Rockstar Social Club but I can't find which version it updates to. So should I install 1.0.7 before i run it so it auto updates?

steam seems to cause heavy problems for everyone, perhaps look at IVMP forums for help with that?

Well I don't have the steam version, I bought it in the store. I was wondering if it would work with steam but apparently it's not any easier on there. lol anymore suggestions Devin that I can try?

Im stuck with this now, I misread someone elses post then about it being steam somehow.

I now have no more ideas, this client is one of the most delicate I have ever used, you have one thing slightly off and it wont work.

When the game is done installing, do not run it. Download the patch 1.0.7 from rockstar games and run that patch by itself. Do not run the game before this or do any auto updating.

After that patch is done installing try to run the game. If it wont start then put that xlive.dll file into the game folder and try again.

If this is done as explained then there is no reason that i can explain as to why the game wont start.

If the game starts successfully then go ahead and install IVMP.

About Masterjedi, i was rather confused that the game itself runs fine (singleplayer, original MP), but IVMP just won't launch.
That's very odd, and if i were you, i would do a clean install of windows.

That's the last thing I want to do though, reinstall windows because I can't play IV-MP. Maybe I just did one little step wrong. If worse comes to worse, I will just wait until the final version is done lol. I mean that shouldn't be too much longer, I can wait as long as I need to, depending on how close they are now.

Do you've the correct Windows Service Pack? I re-installed my windows when I got this problem few months ago, and it worked after that.

Remove Social Club from your computer after you've fully installed GTA IV,, and see if it works then. Good luck

I have SP3 and I followed the instructions above but now when I click on IV MP it just has the error sound but no visible error message appears. And if I am going to reinstall windows...then I will need to know where the save game folder is for gtaIV. Is there anything else I can try before I reinstall windows? Why does it work anyway after that? lol

Does this work if you have lost your activation code or what ever for IV:MP?
I've lost my code so not much I can do, but I really want to play... xD

Also IV-MP opens for a second in task manager and closes immediately...
