Hey. Today when I tried to close an Internet Tab , it told me that Windows didn't allow to access the page due to Malware or something like that . I opened my Task Manager to see the processes . There is something ''Companionuser.exe''. Does anyone know if it's a virus or something? I'm running a Virus scan with BitDefender right now.

Companionuser.exe's description is : Windows Live Messenger Companion User Elevation Helper .. But the name sounds like virus or something.

Thank you whoever replies.

Part of Windows Live Companion from LiveSide-net This program is not important for your system process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.

Turn off all your addons.

But the question is, why the FUCK are you using IE? Go Chrome or Mozilla :L

uninstall all your toolbars, any suspicious program, see your Auto-Run list and disable that if exist.
remember what the latest program you installed just before that ''Companionuser.exe'' appear and uninstall it.
then update your Anti-virus and do a Complete (Full) scan.
restart and see..
btw use Firefox, it's better, safer and faster.
