Hi, i am in-need of a new computer, so i have decided to smash up my old one with a hammer and create a new one straight from scratch.

My budget is 400 (GBP) and I may look to salvage and re-use parts from my old computer(s) - such as cables, memory ram, graphics card I am using at the moment.

"It's like building lego" - N.A
So, can someone help me with this scary quest?.

No clue where to start other then "Find motherboard then shit brix after realising it's not good".
I know there are many guides on interweb but I know if something goes wrong someone alive will be around here to help.

Any help will be welcome!

Your better off just getting a straight up new computer. If you wanna find quality parts its probably going to be around the same price. Unless you get a decent computer and upgrade the cpu ect.

Should go fine with most games but if you got any more money buy a new graphic card to that.

Get everything you want in order first. Make sure everything is compatible with each other. Put all links of parts you're going to buy somewhere (like a text file) and look over it. THEN buy all of the parts.

Man I just buy: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/hp-pavilion-p6675uk-07677418-pdt.html

K?
If you want shitty quality parts and an integrated graphics card which will throw a hissy fit, k.
Do some research and build your own.

I've listed components that either match the capabilities of the HP PC or are better. Use this as reference only and check compatibility.

If you want to spend less, I'd recommend the AMD route.

Or an I3 and a GTX560 instead as graphics cards make the biggest difference in games but other than that Shockk has selected a pretty solid combo.

Do NOT use any pcworld, currys, tesco etc - high street brands are very expensive!

www.ebuyer.com is probably the cheapest way to get what you want.

However when I first built my PC, I used http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/ .
Novatech has good value for money, but the thing you cannot beat is the service. They have probably the best support forum I have seen. You can post up what you want to buy and they will sort you out, give you reviews, advice and any other stuff.
