I wanted to post this up on Argonath for all the police both ARPD and SAPD officers out there. This is the correct way to do a traffic stop in the United States, I did make some changes due to the fact that this is a game, but the basics stay the same. I am the Chief of Los Santos Police Department in another server and this is how I want my Officers stopping people. I just think it would be nice to see in Argonath as well. Yes you will need to make some changes due to server commands and such....

1.Lights and sirens
2.order the person to pull over via megaphone at the safest area for you the person being pulled over
and the general public
(LEAVE LIGHTS AND SIRENS RUNNING)
3. Radio plates, location, how many people in the vehicle, vehicle type, and color
4. Walk up to the vehicle either passenger, or driver, safest spot to be, your decision
5. Tell the driver who you are (I am Chief Martini, with the Los Santos Police Department)
6. Tell them why you are pulling them over, and the location of there mistake
(I am pulling you over this evening for reckless driving back there in Market near the amunation)
6. Ask for /showid
7. Run ID through /mdc or through /r (radio)(/r 4charles35 10-29 name and DOB)
8. Either warn, ticket, or nothing depending on record and violation
9. Let the person know they are free to leave at the safest available time
10. Walk back to car and shut off sirens and lights, and proceed into traffic saftely
11. BE POLITE, if you are not polite to the person the traffic stop could easily end in a 11-99

Sadly, there is no "correct" way to do a traffic stop. It is all about the officer himself, if he feels like following the book correctly or wants to make some fun out of the situation.

Well there is a correct way, however like you said it is the officers choice to do it correctly of not.....

Before someone starts an arguement here, I would like to thank Tosh Tini's effort in putting this. This may not be the 'correct' way, but this sure is giving me an idea of how I am going to do my next traffic stop.

There isn't a "correct" way but your option works good too. Thanks for the guide!

NO.

If there's one thing I hate about cops, is being schematic like a bot. I sincerely hate when a cop does EXACT same routine when stopping me - /m1 - stops - reports in radio - /me knocks on window (ALWAYS this line) - ... you know the rest.

And the schematicness is the main reason why I'm prone to running away from a traffic stop. And what does happen then? "if suspect moves then /su ID Evading". It's not even running away from a traffic stop, not even stealing a cop's ID, never anything creative. Just "Evading", as if the cops had that word in their windows clipboard ready to be Ctrl+V'd.

Best and most pleasant traffic stops I had were done by amateur cops. Last time I /dice'd my freedom and not paying the ticket (after 2 draws, lol). What would a "z0mg RP professional" cop do? suspect me for bribery or refusing to cooperate...

Corruption. That is how its formed.
Implying it's "bad" or "non-RP" or negative in any way.

Ok well when I say "correct" way I have RL police training, been on many ride-a-longs, done many traffic stops. That is the way you do a stop irl (obviously some changes, and not using commands). Yes I enjoy a freecop who has no idea what they are doing, makes my asshole-ness come out and have a little fun. All I am stating in this topic is this is the SA-MP form of a correct base on RL traffic stop...

Thank you Captain Obvious, of the USS No Shit Sherlock. What is RP? RP is Roleplay, correct me if I am wrong, but in Argonath you can "RP" a criminal and rob people, or shoot cops. Then there are EMT (Medic) that you can RP a paramedic and help people that are hurt. Or you can RP a cop, which his job to make sure people abide by that laws, and protect citizens. I knew there was going to be someone who said that "this isn't real life", yeah this is "Roleplay" based off of real life, if you want to RP a cop why not do it correctly like a RL cop would? Rather then being an abusive jerk and /su for not complying with officers when I don't feel like /me gives license, unless I know why I am being pulled over for.

What I prefer is total randomness in role-play situations.
And that's what this server is deeply all about, using your imagination to create random and extraordinary situations for everybody's enjoyment.

There is no right way, everyone has different ways of doing things!
Remember this is not RLRP, it's RPG. (Roleplay game)
So my advice is to inject humor into your roleplay instead of following guides..
Yeah I also hate when officers have exactly the same routine. For example;"Do you know why I pulled you over?"

Oh yeah I am not saying you HAVE to follow this exactly, I like having fun when I am /duty. I have fun, however cover all those points I made. I like having fun traffic stops when I am both /duty and not. It is boring if it is the same robot-ness all the time. Anyways I was suggesting that, I am tired of freecops acting like Hitlers Secret Police(not intended to be rasist, you find it offensive then sorry)

The world you're playing is based on real life (not even real life actually, but GTA San Andreas). Actual role-playing isn't based on anything - freestyle. You can play a regular human being as well as a cartoony character, an animal, a fictional creature or almost whatever you think of.

[...]if you want to RP a cop why not do it correctly like a RL cop would? Rather then being an abusive jerk and /su for not complying with officers when I don't feel like /me gives license, unless I know why I am being pulled over for.
Implying that if a cop does not do a stop "by the book", he's an abuser.
