Saw the news this morning. Like with the 2005, the people will only know what scale the disaster is much later.

Well the Earthquake was the catalyst, from what Im hearing A few Nuclear Reactors are going down and 4 are not working and 1 is a poss able leak at the Fukushima Power Plant, also a Fire at a Petrol Refinery. I mean the USGS (United States Geological Service) has said there is now about a 150 Mile (270 Kilometer?) hole in the Fault that causes this Tsunami, that's almost as large as the Indian one in 2006.

Not to take off from the Japan but here in the US well it was some chaos at the beaches from what I asked my friends. Hawaii seemed to dodge a bullet, however most of the north shores got hit with some 7-8 foot waves, while that size is not totally rare the fact that it was on the entire side of islands was. Well there were more to my state, in California I was told from a friend the cops were arresting a few surfers who were obviously told "DO NOT GO IN THE WATER" or something like that. Also the US Coast Guard is looking for a boat that reported being capsized somewhere in the northern/mid section of California. Most of the damage on the North America side is minimal, I would easily say 80% of the damage on the North American cost is marina, dock and boat damage. No idea whats going on or what happened to the Canucks but I bet no one is hurt up there.

Back to Japan, it seems that the U.N. has deiced to not care about the Middle East and focus on humanitarian aid to Japan and there seems to be Huge amounts of aftershocks that are greater then 6.0 magnitude, This is hands down the most devastating natural disaster to Japan in its History.

This is the first thing I heard when at school. It's awful, and feel very sorry for the people in Japan.

I heard there is an alleged radioactive leak. Awful tragedy, indeed.

Lets hope for a better tomorrow.

The US are stupid for not giving any coolant to control the nuclear plants in Japan.

Arrgh...I have a couple of Japanese friends from Second Life. One says she is perfectly alright (Maybe live in South Japan?), other says she's worried about her mother. :S I hope everything settles down quickly.

Since this thing happen.. people now predict there will be a SuperDoom on March 19, 2011... Specifically that the moon will come nearer to Earth and many earthquakes followed by tsunamis will occur.

It's sad to hear that 200 people died.
