I see that he is being honest, and he knows that he will profit off of all this, he knows what he's saying and you know what? he does not give a single inch of care. His philosophy is this: He does not directly damage anyone who watches him on TV and see this, and pretty much refuses to take blame - for good reason. BUT for example, he caused the show he was on to end, affecting all of the crew, and he accepts its his fault, and is trying to get the show back for the next weeks they were going to film.

Not only has charlie been honest to this whole situation, but he has questioned 9/11 (with the knowledge of being his voice being recorded), specifically asking for USA President Barack Obama to 'investigate.'  Why is he being a grown up kid? There are a lot of 'grown up kids' over the world, but whether they want to admit it or not makes the difference here. Charlie is indeed 'superhuman' like he claimed - maybe he was actually hinting at his nerves and balls of steel.
