Role-reversal week | Starting 1st April | SWAT announced.

Background.

Over the last three months I have been organising the role-reversal week, which in the discussion thread whether or not it should be brought in, had overwhelming support in favour of it from both cops and criminals alike.

At first I thought that this week would not go ahead without developer approval, so I asked xcasio in-game if there was something he would do about it - he told me to contact SWAT and I was okay with that.

Firstly I spoke to Jimmy Bowling of the SFPD SWAT - he agreed a role-reversal week which would be the first week of March providing SAPD Chief Pancher was okay with it. Having done that, I spoke to Ben Samiir who assured me that the LSPD (SRU) SWAT would be following his orders and consented to this role-reversal week. After that I spoke to Leroy Hudson of LVPD SWAT, who said that he was fine with the week in which the roles would be swapped. I spoke to Pancher a couple of weeks after this and he has given his go ahead. The starting date has been set at the 1st of April to co-incide with April Fools' Day.

Fernando Riviera, who I have tried to contact on numerous occasions through several FBI members has yet to reply to my question. Therefore at this moment in time, the FBI will be dealt by the appropriate authorities and hopefully this thread makes the FBI members involved realise that this week is going ahead.

General Information.

The PD you will be assigned to will be the one where your groups currently engage in most of their roleplay. As leaders of your groups, you will obviously have some advantages as the structure of the SAPD hierarchy will be a reformed one from current SAPD albeit you will have to notify the lower ranked members of the infomation you are receiving now.

There will be a general CB radio with an as yet undisclosed number in which all the group leaders are given owner level rights instead of three different CB radios for each city to maximise the number of cops we have available to send out to situations. Anyone found breaking cop rules will be banned from the CB for the rest of the week and/or cop banned.

This means that for one week only, all of us work as a team and there will be no enemies and/or gangwars. At a future date, I will be giving more details and explaining the rules as soon as the project starts picking up pace. The whole point of this week is to make players realise the current difficulties of being criminals and hopefully encourage them to do more to help them whilst helping criminals in being having more empathy and understanding about the roles of the cops on the server. The intention is that criminals provide their own perspective of what a police force should be doing which should highlight any areas of concern there are at the moment with the cop/criminal situation and hopefully this will bring in more permanent changes to the server.

Enrolment.

For all those interested in becoming cops for a week who are not in a criminal group or criminal group leaders who have not yet requested to be a part of the role-reversal week will have to fill in a short form and wait to be allocated to their respective jurisdiction.

Rules & Regulations.

When on SWAT duty you will be entrusted to use certain vehicles and have the ability to equip yourself and others with specialised weaponry. These weapons may only be used while on approved SWAT duty and may not be used at any other time without appropriate permission. Those who have been selected for SWAT duty in the role-reversal week will have been chosen on the grounds of their competence during their time as criminals, having displayed flair and prestige in their roles as criminals and excellent communication among both themselves and their counterparts.

Abuse of any equipment while not on a recognised SWAT mission will result immediate punishment or termination of your duties. Much responsibility rests on your shoulders as improper behaviour from one member places the entire team in jeopardy and disregard - which are not the reasons why this role-reversal week is being materialised.

SWAT members should set a good example at all times, many of the lesser ranked ARPD members look to SWAT members as an example of acceptable behaviour. When you carkill a suspect, the role-reversal week ARPD is carkilling the suspect. As with all players, breaking server rules is strictly forbidden. In addition, while you may enjoy friendly deathmatching with other cops, this is setting a bad example to new players and is therefore also forbidden. Thus always behave maturely and try to be role models to the newer players and the preceding ARPD.

The ranks are yet to be set however nobody will be given a rank no less than the equivalent SAPD officer.
