I hope this topic won't turn out into any moan topic or flame war...

I want to know what's the actual definition of "criminal", especially by self-claimed "criminals" and "criminal" group members. Because I sense there must be some logical fallacy in understanding what's a "criminal" (not only between criminals themselves, but between players in general) that causes all the moaning about "criminals" in various topics.

Assumption for this topic: no definition is assumed as wrong (yet, we'll argue about it later), so no arguing about someone being "wrong"

"criminals" and "criminal" group members.
These are the same thing, and that is my definition.

Panda. I am not a member of any criminal grouping, but I do role play in situations that are illegal( money laundering, illegal immigration, tax evasion, clashes with different gangs/ criminal organization). So am I a criminal or not?

And we do not try to be real life, as why would you ever play real life if you have one ? We play the GTA universe, and our players should try to live in the GTA world, not the real one.

So anyone being a member of a group that calls themselves "criminals", is a "criminal"?
Got any narrower definitions?

Criminal - One who knowingly participates in various crimes consistently. These are not those who go and speed all the time, shoot in the air for whoring attention, do reckless driving. Instead, they consistently (or occasionally) do a combination of all or some of participating in drug dealing, carrying out hits, rape/kidnapping/murder, and all of the other fancy stuff. One does not earn the title of a true criminal until they show they are capable of roleplaying as a criminal, rather than just doing the illegal stuff alone.

Criminals can call themselves criminals not by being suspected 24/7, and not even by doing the aforementioned crimes above, but just by being some opposition to law enforcement.

Though much is taken, much abides; and though we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

+PzP+9r2e5i3k, maybe it's easier to actually define everyone else beside "criminals"?

A criminal, generally in a criminal group, is someone who calls themselves such even when not suspected, and is recognised as such by other players.
