Signature with online status

Hey there, peeps!

I have been thinking on, if it is possible to create a signature, that would check, if a certain player is online on Argonath RPG server.
I have made 2 versions of my signature, offline and online. Now, I would like to know, how to make it working, so it would detect, if I am online on SA-MP server or no.
I got some knowledge of PHP, MySQL and HTML.

For some reason, I have bad feeling, that it might need server-side scripting. If not, then it's good.
If you have any ideas, how to get it working, please post or send me PM or whatever.

EDIT: Argonath IV:MP Developer AlexW currently has one, and if I remember correctly, FlameMan had one long time ago.

It used to work, I had that for like 2 years, but now as far as i know its impossible.

it still does work ive seen a few people with one
