It's SMF 2.0 RC5.

Pretty obvious.

You just made my day

SMF is so easy to navigate, I guess most people will agree with me on this. I know exactly where everything is and find it user-friendly.
I'm sure we would get used to other forums, but unless something is broken, don't fix it. This forum has worked well for the time I have been here, so I don't see the issue

Checking with SMF and webmaster forums show that there are no current exploits, as long as SMF is kept updated to the latest verion. This goes not just for SMF, but for any forum software.
A short exploration at the dark side showed that there actually is an exploit for SMF RC5, is the configuration allows it. Ours does not.

Mostly if guys are waving another forum it is because they have either an unknown exploiyt forum and wish to hack, or because they are part of the development team. In 5 years of SMF we found one potentially dangerous exploit (which was not used against us) and SMF patched it within a very short time. If you have something serious, let us know how it works and SMF will fix it.

Tell me what version it is, and I will Pm you them, I will not put that information out there, different versions have different exploits.
For now you did not provide me any exploit...
With this I have a question: why an ordinary user tells us to change the forum engine to other by obvious fake accusations on the current engine?...
Besides it, from PMs and from the question about version I come to conclusion that  you are not in knowledges even of the standard SMF user to talk about exploits...

You found paradise in Argonath. You had a good game, you made good friends. The admins protected you and there were courts of law. So you didn't need a friend like me. Now you come and say "Aragorn, give me justice." But you don't ask with respect.

I told you the biggest thing to protect the forum, if you don't move that anybody can easily access the admin cp and take over.

SMF is a simple and user-friendly engine. I've done work on different types such as ph3bb, but SMF is definitely easier to use.

The most important part is interacting with others and meeting people from around the world.

Argonath is SMF... If there is any better forum out there, let them be, But I think Argonath's forum is great as it is.

I told you the biggest thing to protect the forum, if you don't move that anybody can easily access the admin cp and take over.
I told you to prove it... And you said you cannot prove...
I suppose you've just heard somewhere something... Having link does not mean everybody can access... Did you access? No... Then anybody cannot access that easily, yeah? If that would be that easy as you tell here, SMF would have already stopped being existed as a non-trusted software...
It has over millions sites users and your so called "omg weak link" did not damage any of them...

I have an idea of one exploit, but in RC 5 it was already fixed...

And one more... If you think that the forum which you advertise cannot be hacked/has no bugs - then you should read more about bugs/exploits/hacks... Not just something you heard to look cool hackor here...

And the last... SMF is a free software... Sad to say free software is the first to be under attack from hackers/abusers... Mostly from commercial competitors... But SMF even with its free software stays strong and respectably "live"...
So even with the open software it has a great secure system...

What you geve is a standard link to a PHP command, one that to change would complicate every forum security update, and one that is used on 99% of all SMF installations.Making a change there would mean the same change to make on every update, and there for would actuallu lower the security.

If you wish to look cool by telling your friends about exploits go ahead, but unless you can actually prove something, right now you look just pathetic.

As for vBulletin, judging the amount of cracked and pirated copies floating around I do not think they are so good.

Hasn't ever been done yet, so your 'easily' doesn't really make sense.. Besides, if it ain't broken, don't fix it :)

The first thing I noticed is that the admin cp hasn't been moved, which every engine tells you to do. I am not trying to start anything, just pointing out the week spots.

I replied to that. What you pointed out to Aragorn is the command to reach the admin panel.
To change this you would have to change the PHP command pointing at the admin panel, as well as moving the script. This would have to be re-executed after every upgrade, making the upgrade process a lot more hard, thus causing patches to be installed later and exposing the forum to possible vulnerabilities.
Apart from that it would be not of use to a hacker who uses tools to enter the software, as a fast dicertory scan will reveal it anyway.
So unless you can come up with vulnerabilities of the admin panel, we are going to leave it like the other 99% of SMF installations.

OK, I am going to put in a close request for this, and anything I find I will let you know of.
