It was interesting the first couple of times, but it sucks that you gotta do it everytime you're notorious and templars decide to attack your den, I'd rather restart the game to an earlier level when I had lower notoriety.
It only happened twice or thrice to me. I kept my notoriety fairly low most of the time and trained up my Assassins quickly so they couldn't be over run.
As Rapture said, it's interesting the first few times, but it gets old fast, even by the third. The whole missions thing is a massive gimick to try and extend game play time IMO. They offer you the chance to fortify cities and have them Assassin controlled instead of Templars. This means you can also place, I think 4? Assassins in the city, but the stupid thing is, you have to keep sending them on missions in the city.
