Fake iPhone

Hey i will do a tranzaction with a guy , i give him one nokia n97 and he gave me the iPhone 3GS , my problem is how do i know if its fake or its an original iphone? how can i test it ?

Tell him to turn the phone on and do a test run on it.. if it doesn't boot or he refuses to... decline the deal.

Even if it works, it may be fake because it may be Genuine, which is most likely made from China. Best thing to do is to check the Camera picture, If it was a crap image then It's fake.

Buy an iPhone in an Apple Retail store to prevent yourself from getting scammed on such a scale.

1. Again, checking the serial number and IMEI number is your best bet.

2. Fake iPhones will not connect to WiFi.

3. The box they come in will not be rectangular. Apple's box is a nice rectangle. Fakes sometimes come in flat boxes.

4. The box doesn't come with the same accessories as listed on the Apple site. A real iPhone from the factory will come with standard items.

Just experience the OS. You can always tell the difference between Chinese and iOS after a couple of minutes of usage. Also, check for reflective text, the iPhone connector (19-20 something pins), and the durability of it.

An N97 is a fairly good phone, I would think twice before trading it for an iPhone 3GS which I am not even certain of.
