Cant connect

Downloaded the vcmp client(the one shown on the vcmultiplayer site) and I cant connect to Argo. All it says is "Connecting to <server ip>" and that is just about it. I tried using the same name I used on Argo to connect to another server and I was logged in instantly.
Help me out if you can.

Make sure all vcmp files are located in the VC directory.
Make sure firewall settings are correct
Make sure you got the right version of VC 1.0

All vcmp files are in the vc directory.
I doubt its my firewall, if it was, would I be able to connect to other servers using the same name?
About the version, well how do i find out?

There's also the fact that the server tends to go down occasionally, and auto-restart doesn't seem to work all the time. You sure the server is up?

Although for this situation, I recall recently certain VC Argo players having problems with their respective servers, and someone in the SA:MP Lags topic mentioning that while he was talking with a VC:MP Player on Argonath's Facebook Group, the player said VC:MP started to lag (internet-wise, not FPS-wise) all of a sudden, in the same manner as SA:MP. Maybe this might be connected.

Argonath RPG system hosts perhaps.
It was undergoing maintenance fairly recently.

Yeah, if you only see something like
Argonath:RPG, players 0/0, ping 9999
then it means the server is down.
