So hello,

I recently heard something about "ARPD officers should be able to deal with freecops" or something like that.

Now, we cant deny every day there is at least one cop constantly DMing regulars while no admin is available. This is very annoying because some persons enjoy screwing others and do it again and again and again....

Now at many cases there are ARPD members online. Higher ranked officers should have a command such as /c copban [ID] [Time].
That command would be used on a cop who is constantly breaking rules and not following police procedures. The command would not let the player spawn as a cop during certain period of time.

Now I believe most of you is familiar with ARPD memberlist and knows every single one of them in VCMP. There is always a possibility that this command can be abused but in that case report can be made. Action would be taken against the abuser and everything would be okay again.
This command would cut DMers away from free weapons and provide admins the time to take care of them.
Of course, the ARPD rank required should be decided by the admin team.

Cops should not have any weapons when they spawn. They should get the weapons via /c restock at any PD. This would heavily reduce the number of DM incidents.
Ill pose an example:

Lets say a random DMer comes to Argo. He starts searching for a class that has weps. He is sad... the best thing he found is a knife. He starts knifing people standing still. He fails killing people as people run away or he gets killed by cops. He is a little bit bored but once in a while looks at the chat log. He sees all that text and feels like he is in another world. He starts to spam main chat "How u guys do tht". People help him, tell him some RP commands and tell him to visit the forums. The guy turns out to be a valuable member in VCMP community.

I don't know. Instead, why not make a command for ARPD officers to suspect freecops. This could be used for roleplaying crooked cops, too

Both you and know me often freecops are abusing, for example shooting civilians (but not killing them) for fun. In such situation you could suspect them, their team changes to civilian, and you can punish them just like with criminals.

I get your point but I dont think they care a lot about that punishment. They will just spawn as a cop to get free weps to kill people (then officers aswell). Why should we let them just plainly kill people while we could just forbid them spawning as a cop. Trust me, in almost all cases, they will not RP with you.

That makes some sense, as cops could copban all the rambos who ruin roleplays for a hour or 30 minutes..so I'll go and say supported, as long as admins make sure only people competent enough get the access

Higher ranked Officers are whatever you call the trained police on your server...VCPD Officers perhaps.

ARPD is the whole of the SAPD, VCPD, LCPD, and FBI...and anything else there is.

We prefer to just call them freecops in VCMP. Calling them ARPD officers makes some fuss

Yes mate, Ive seen even dumber guys. The problem is: A lot of people DMing are just joined the server. Some of them dont even know english. In that case they are unable to understand the RP values needed to play in Argo. Some people who join with the intention to DM do not get a chance to do that in the first 10 minutes and they leave (Without having screwed others). Also It would be logical that a cop actually needs to GET his weapon, armour etc. I love that idea and support it 100%.

The first idea's quite interesting... as not everyone likes to go and find an Admin on MSN/forums (though some thankfully do :P).
It'll have to be made with care.

As for the second idea - that could actually work, and I see where you are coming from, personally.
It's often odd when a player asks "how do I register" (for example), when the instructions are automatically shown on their screen.
This may be useful, provided it is included in the police help commands, with prompt.

Yeah, that's a more SA:MP thing.
While still applicable, other servers seem to be less keen on it.

Supporting both ideas, provided, as Legend said, /c restock is available in the cophelp command. I'm thinking that the ARPD Chief, department chiefs, and admins of a certain level should be able to copban. Let's see what Klaus/aXXo think about implementing this.

The ARPD Chief is the Chief of whole police department in Argonath, like the image i'll post below shows.

The correct structure for the server would be VCPD Chief -> VCPD Deputy Chief -> VCPD Captain -> VCPD Sergeant and so on..

I support that VCPD Sergeant+ and Admins Level 2 (basically, moderator) get this right.

Yeah, the point I am making still stands. The topic seems to be under the impression ARPD Officers and Freecops are different things. My point is, ARPD Officers are the Freecops, so where they are saying ARPD Officers they should be saying VCPD Officers

Currently Scripted

• Anyone with VCPD Chief privileges or is level 2+ administration can copban a player for a certain amount of time
• ARPD Officers and above or administrators cannot be copbanned
• Copbanned players will be killed automatically if they attempt to spawn
• Spawning cops receive only a nightstick and Colt .45. They will receive shotguns with /c (re)stock, and receive a message telling them to use it.

All of the above can be disabled and enabled by Klaus, aXXo, or myself at the moment, and is disabled by default. Sound good?
