Why should the reported be informed about the punishment? He can use it as revenge tool if he just doesn't like someone. I myself tho' prefer straight contact to admins over e-mail, since I know the admins and I know the admins job..

About the problem SugarD brought up, every admin makes mistakes, even the best of them. Someone always has a bad day or is busy taking in reports or something...

I meant for when sending emails into the Argo email addresses, that the reporter, (person sending the report), receives an email back.

If you mean only a message that it is being handled, but that I would not understand if they have been informed about the punishment also

Well what I'm saying is if someone sends in a report to one of the emails regarding another user, that the person who sent in the report receives an auto-reply message back saying something like "Thank you for taking your time to send us your concerns. We will process the email as soon as we can. You may or may not receive a reply back, depending on if we need further information. Thank you again, and have a wonderful day!"

Most admins on SA-MP tend to just type /ban quicker than ask how/what/when/where happened in rulebreaking.

Actually, this is false... I am one of SA:MP's strictest Admins, yet ban is my least-used punishment.

I wouldn't object though to the idea of an auto-reply in emails if the developers would be too busy to send a response. I once reported a DMer / Flamer in 2008 MTA:VC to Aragorn's email, who he banned afterwards and sent a response.
