Since I upgraded to windows 7, whenever I plug ANYTHING into ANY usb port on my laptop, I suddenly stop picking up any wireless networks. None at all. Also the device plugged in works for about 30 seconds before the laptop stops picking up that aswell.

Before you mention it, my drivers are up to date.. well at least I think so, there weren't any drivers on the software page which included USBs. if there are any driver that could effect this, please tell me.
Here's my laptop's drivers page: http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/supportMyProduct.do?service=UK

Please I really need my USB ports, I've been living with this problem a few months now, I've had enough of it. If you have any idea what could be wrong please tell me.

Thank you.

$2,000,000 SA:MP Money if you give me a solution!

That is surely a possibility but the person mentions he has the problem since an upgrade to his operating system. USB devices to not require a lot of power, though. With that said, I do not think that is the problem at all.

First things first, which laptop do you have (Model number included) ? How old is it ? What version of windows 7 do you have ? Are there other things that do not work apart from the problem with your USB port ?

It's an almost 3 year old system - Toshiba satellite L350-170, Windows 7 home premium 32 bit

Probably wasn't even worth upgrading it to Windows 7, it only has 2GB RAM which is practically the minimum.

No idea whats causing the problem though.

The laptop I have is a 5 year old HP Compaq nc8230 with only 2 gigs of ram. It's a lot faster than XP.

could be a number of issues, basically the USB could be shorting out the wireless, the USB could be taking power from the wireless, could be corrupt USB ports, could be corrupt wireless card. i doubt it has anything to do with windows 7 being installed, and is more of a hardware issue than Software, your local computer shop should be able to open it up and see if there is anything they can fix(as its probably not under warranty)

1-try reinstalling the drivers
2- go on device manager and power option uncheck Allow this device to turn off to save power i think it will work
3- otherwise the USB is taking all the power of the PC what you are plugging ?

Right mouse click on the save removal thing on your taskbar, then click on all USB sticks to remove them, and plug them out.
Plug the Wireless internet USB in, get connectivity, and see if it works with other USB devices now.
