I think Tai is away from Argo right now, or at least that's what I last heard, so I think that's why nothing has been announced yet either way.

I assume the layout was supposed to be used on Independence Day... which already passed weeks ago.

Well the overall topic was to put it up that day and have it replace the current theme. The current one is based on SMF1, but the forum software is SMF2, so they figured it'd be time to replace it with something more modern.

If we're still based on SMF1 which it does look like it since it's just a plain old blue, we need a upgrade.

Ya. It was a custom-made SMF1 theme that they converted for SMF2 when they upgraded. Unfortunately though, it's still SMF1-style.
