Why has /pm become /ad now? and what can be done?

Its becoming more frequent in-game where people send adverts via /pm. Its kinda annoying, I know /setpm off and w.e but I actually need to use /pm sometimes and having to shut it off is getting old. Is it reportable? or What should/can be done?

Ads range from drugs (buying/selling), Casinos, Do you wanna buy my house/business etc.

When people get that cheap, unfortunately, nothing can be done. If they choose to send adverts in pm to all 70-80 players, that is their choice, although it is a lame, cheap choice.

Well some could argue it's as lame as /ad being $500 in the first place.
But ya, /sms is better =)

current /ad system is discrimination to people who choose different role-plays... A farmer cannot afford to do /ad always. I did one /ad today and found my self advertising in /sms as the person asked what I was selling. So I did, if this makes me cheap because I want to just role-play then so be it. I guess other people who go around doing /em [SIGN] Selling DONUTS, Hot Dogs, Potatoes etc are also sad and cheap...

Just /report them who advertises to your PM, it's quite simple and the administration will deal with it.

In the old days, I used to play around with those random people who would PM me (then an FBI Agent) asking if I wanted to buy weed. Imagine the look on their faces when they saw their customer's jacket.

For? "Advertising in my PM"? That doesn't really sound like much of a rulebreak to me.

I just ignore them, they're not that frequent really. Only if they begin flooding my PM with it would I actually report it, or just /setpm off temporarily for a minute.
