Right, now, i'm unsure about posting links on this forums, so i'll just copy and paste the article from Gamespot

"Saying that Rockstar Games is working on a new Grand Theft Auto game isn't exactly a bold prediction. However, sources close to the Take-Two Interactive subsidiary have confirmed to GameSpot that the next installment in the blockbuster series is "well under way" and is already having final touches such as minigames being applied to it. The sources said a 2012 release was "pretty likely," adding that the game's scale was vast.

"It's the big one," they said.

Development of the next GTA is "well under way."

Unfortunately, the sources would not divulge any further details on the project, which is already the subject of much speculation. A recent set of casting calls from a talent agency point to the game as being set in a Los Angeles-like metropolis, with a motley crew of California characters being filled for a voice-over session. Prior rumors had the game being set in the Miami clone Vice City.

As of press time, Rockstar reps did not have any comment on casting calls, the game's setting, or whether a new GTA was even in development.

Wherever the next GTA is set, it will have some big shoes to fill. Its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto IV, was a massive success for Rockstar and Take-Two. As of March 2011, the game had sold nearly 20 million copies, placing it among the top-selling games of all time. Its forebearer, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, sold more than 12 million units globally, with its domestic 9.8 million-unit haul putting it in NPD's top 10 US best sellers of the 2000s."
/end article

So Gamespot suggests its either gonna be SA or VC again :D Both were great, i'm really hoping it'll be in San Andreas again.
I hope they bring back the FBI Cheetah, that was wicked mang,
infact, i liked all the FBI vehicles, they pree sweet ;p
I also hope if they do it in San Andreas again, they'll bring back the "Purchasing Houses" + all the garages.

I kinda wanted them to do another city like a Chicago or Seattle copy. They ruined GTA3s Liberty City with IV, and they're bound to ruin SA's version of Los Santos with this if they do that.

The question if it is in SA, will be if its all of SA, or just portions of it, as with these new graphics, i think it'd be difficult to make a huge map again, without a whole buncha lag.
I also hope they bring back the trailers that could be attached to the back of semi's.
I hope if it is SA, they'll keep most of the cities the same, but expand it out more so the cities are bigger.
More Vehicles would be sweet too.
and bring back car mod shops too.
and all the other good things Rockstar ruined/took out when they made IV

Nah if it's the IV engine it'll have to be one city, unless they decide they actually want to produce a game better than Saints Row 3, which would take some doing by the looks of things at the moment.

It would be interesting if Rockstars explored on the style of GTA 2, although the town name was "Anywhere City" and.. interestingly enough, took place in the year 2013.

Where must we go... we who wander this Wasteland in search of our better selves?

ughh, but the whole point of SA was that it was a huge map >.< they mindaswell just do VC then if they're going to only do One city of SA.

I'd prefer it somewhere outside of the known maps and cities already. Honk Kong or Tokyo doesn't sound bad at all.

I would love for them to revamp San Andreas, and apply the graphics of GTA IV - that would literally be one of the best games ever. It would also be pretty cool if the story could be centered around the events preceeding CJ's arrival, and focused on a character such as Brian, for example. But, they'll probably just ruin it and San Andreas, as they did with GTA IV.

You can't compare a whole game with a modification.
What?

I think they should do Chicago or Seattle. That way they wouldn't ruin what they've already made, at least not for a little while.
But whatever, Saints Row 3 is probably going to be better than GTA 5, just like SR2 was better than GTA 4.

This. I didn't enjoy IV one bit at all. It seems as though they took the 'go around killing people with absolutely no sense of direction' fun out of the game, and made it completely serious, which I found utterly boring and painful to play through. SR2 on the other hand was completely insane and had me fixated throughout my playthrough.

Definitely can't wait for SR3. Shit looks insane.
