Okay so recently, when I have Windows 7 I had a problem with the 'AMD Drivers have stopped working..' etc.
But now I have switched to XP, I get the same problem, along with other, worse problems.
Here is the problem:
I have an AMD HD Radeon 6850 1GB GDDR5, and I am having real bad issues with it. Basically, I first had Windows 7 and it worked fine for a while, on games such as GTA IV, MW2, GTA SA, and more, then when I played GTA SA one day, I got the error 'AMD Display Drivers have stopped working and have been recovered'. It got to the point where I could not play at all, with the crashing every few seconds, so I switched to XP (64-bit) in attempt to help the issue.
I got the same error with VPU Recover, and I'm currently trying to play MineCraft. But now, I get even worse problems. If I install Catalyst and the display drivers (11.8), I reboot, attempt to play MineCraft, and then it will crash. Then, it's as if the drivers uninstall theirselves. The CCC is still installed, but when I open it, it says that the AMD display drivers are not found. Also, when I move windows around, they go all jagged and laggy, as well when I scroll up/down on a page. As if I had no drivers installed.
I can keep repeating the process, uninstalling, installing, but nothing helps. I have tried several other CCC versions but sometimes they don't work at all - and I have to go in Safe Mode to access my PC. I have no idea how to fix it now.. it is ridiculous. I'm praying one of you will be able to identify and fix my problem.
PC Specs:
AMD Phenom X6 II Hex Core 1055T
8gb Ram (2x4gb)
Windows XP 64-bit Pro Edition, SP2
ASUS AMD Motherboard (I forgot what it is exactly, will post info when I find out, sorry)
Graphics card as above...
SATA 2 512GB HDD
In a sentence: Basically, I can't play any games and my display drivers are failing constantly.
