Sounds like a lunar eclipse in Australia to me.

Pictures I took from the front yard...

The reason they aren't red was because it only was red when the whole thing was covered by shadow and the battery in my camera just HAPPENS to go flat while the moon is in shadow





So yeah, thats all I could see from where I was but I guess it as better than people in Victoria who were complaining about clouds while here we had clear sky and perfect conditions
