It wasn't a very good refereeing display overall, unless we forget the Ronaldo "penalty" when he was actually fouled outside of the box. It's easy to pardon a referee's mistakes when they work in your favor and condemn them when it's the opposite.
It wasn't a penalty indeed, I would have been more happy with a foul and a red card to Alvez to tell you the truth. It looked like a clear penalty to the referee since he was 5-6 feet away from where it happened, considering Ronaldo took another step into the box and then fell deeper into the penalty zone. The referee's intention, just like in the Camp Nou was to help Barcelona. Sure he gave a penalty to Ronaldo despite the fact it was outside the box, but he was still doing Barcelona a favour by not even giving out a yellow card to Alvez at the least. I'm sure he also didn't want to risk his job, so of course for him a "correct" decision for Real Madrid would try to cover it up for him.

Since Neymar's penalty was clear and a red since Ramos supposedly fouled him (it was obviously a dive) and was the last defender, then explain to me why the SAME referee didn't call any red card or penalty in a similar 1v1 situation like this one? The difference here is that there is CLEAR contact, unlike the one with Neymar.

Because we all love Messi.

Here's another penalty that should have been given.

Too many "coincidences" in two matches by the same referee.

(Video)

Point taken, I feel as if this warranted a penalty and maybe even a red card more than Ramos' foul. In Ramos' case though you could argue either way, Neymar is a well documented diver and Ramos' recklessness inside the box is more than well documented. Looking at the red card incident it's clear Ramos recklessly clipped his leg whilst Neymar seemed to be in full/medium stride, such an interruption to your regular running motion is bound to make you trip or stumble even if you think Neymar did make a meal of it.

Honestly though I'm well aware of how referee's tend to sympathize with Barca a hell of a lot but I still feel as if in this case alone it was just a terrible officiating display.

He was protecting his face..

Don't know if you can tell from the quality of that video, but while watching the game it seemed that both touched the ball with their hands.

Do you even handball brah?

Honestly though, do you understand how hard it would be to judge such a situation? Fabregas easily made the most significant contact with the ball and from what can be seen it's pretty clear he was trying to protect his face.

Note to self: Never ever ever bet on Arsenal ever again. If they can't even defeat Swansea at home, then I don't even know.

It just doesn't get any easier than going to Trafford and getting 3 points not even getting out of second gear.

Before anyone says it, yes Sevilla pwned us. xD

Was expecting a loss or a draw because of Sevilla's great form and performance in Europa League, and the fact that Madrid has bad morale due to the Clasico defeat.

Barcelona and Atletico have some interesting opponents in their away matches on Saturday so it's not all that bad.
