Well when you're successful in your domestic league and cups, don't really need it.
The first time you managed to turn it around in the very last minute. The second time Liverpool just wasted their chances, else you would've been finishing second both years.
Whoever wins the league deserves it because they played the best throughout the entire season, doesn't matter if it is due to goal difference or by one point.
