Playing IV (Help)

Hello there,

My laptop that I'm using now cannot run IVMP at all. But I've tried our public computer (the one open for any family in my household) and I done the CYDID and EVERYTHING is ticked meaning it passed the test exept the Graphics Card. Now in the graphics card, the 'sub' topics area all ticks. So this is where I'm confused, can I run iv on the laptop or not? I'm hoping you can help me.

For those wondering, I will be playing IV on all settings LOW, if possible. I just want to play the game smoothly as well as San Andreas.

I have the same issue, Dont worry. I can play on like 10-20Fps.

I dont think you will be able to get completely smooth gameplay, I even get lag unfortunately.
But with that built in graphics, I think you may suffer quite badly..

There is however a possibility it may run GTA IV, but you will never know until you give it a shot.

It's not a game that is dependent on graphics alone you need as much cpu power as possible as well. Even if you just about meet the bare minimum it doesn't mean that it will run smoothly.

Hello there,

It seems that the public laptop is running Windows XP? Is this okay? The laptop originally came with Windows 7 but the laptop came with alot of errors, causing us to downgrade our OS. Also, I've made my own account on the laptop. But if I choose to remove any programs, will they also be removed on the real account?

Post Merge: October 25, 2011, 12:12:01 pmI have decided to pull off this 'project'. Overall, I still believe the laptop would run it but mainly the download speed is slow. So I cba to wait 14 hours for the damn file to be completed.

I know you are not willing to wait for the download now however, yes it runs fine on XPSP3 if you don't have SP3 but have SP2 or lower you can trick the game to install and run with by tweaking the registry.

P.S. You can just purchase the game online for a reasonably low price, I think i purchased mine for about 11 -12 quid from WoolWorths.

Well you can also download a game legally. I never understood why people always have to connect download with piracy..
