Hi,

I'm building a new PC and want to be sure all the components will be compatible. Any help and opinions would be appreciated.

So far:
Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V LX Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
CPU: Intel Core i7-2700K 3.50GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - OEM **Supplied with BattleField 3 PC Game**
GPU: Gainward GeForce GTX 580 "GOOD Edition" 1536MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-15000C9 1866MHz Dual Channel Kit - 2x = 4x4GB

Thanks

Modern Warefare 3 would of been a better supplement then Battlefield.

I have a 2TB and a 1TB already, don't need more... especially not now, since hard drive prices have went up over over 120% due to the floods in Thailand..

As for the PSU, I bought a 750W one in mid-september, hopefully it'll be powerful enough..

Unless you plan to overclock get the 2600 instead, its cheaper.

It's only cheaper by 28 pounds, but you don't get battlefield 3 with it (which is worth that)..

Yeah, I might overclock it, but I know nothing about it -- I guess you need a more powerful cooling systeM?

The 750w power supply should be more than suitable enough. If you would like to go down the overclocking route which personally i don't see is even needed for the i7 but that's my opinion then it's generally suggested to shop around for much more efficient cooling.

I would buy a modular PSU to get power from, you'll have to pay a little more but it's worth it since you'll have solvable cords to work with. And this reduce the warm inside your PC. Maybe invest into a SSD with this PC spec? The SSD discs didn't went up due to the floods in Thailand, it's still the same.

You could overclock your processor through BIOS, it's quite easy if you get the hang of it. But be easy with it, and you would need a little better cooling system, yes.

I wouldn't have to pay a little more, I'd have to buy it from 0 because I'd be throwing out the one that's 1 month old  Is it really worth it just to reduce the clutter a little?

Don't get a 2TB HDD
Get a 1TB HDD for storage, then get like a 64GB SSD For the OS
If you plan on Overclocking get a nice after market liquid cooler

Get your self a nice case

No I don't play anymore
