It's possible to have larger ones, but there are several reasons why the defaults are used. What sizes were you guys aiming for as the maximum? I believe 100x100 pixels is the largest you can have right now.

avatar isnt thazt big of a problem , the f**king small height of the signatures is f**ked up and want that rather to be bigger than av's

It's actually an image size limitation in the signature settings, with which you may want to make another topic to discuss. The reason why most admins on most forums don't change the default setting on this is because users tend to absolutely love putting giant signatures on their posts that take up very large portions of the page.

I barely look at avatars personally, they just clutter up the page.

I find people without avatars to be rather 'faceless' and I generally can't put any kind of identity to them or their posts.

Well it's not really, that's too small for any kind of detail.

150x150 is bigger than you guys think by the way, 125x125 would be a large enough improvement on the current ones without taking up much more space. 150x150 is a bit big for what is essentially just meant to be a face.
Even an increase to 110x110 would be appreciated.

Well it's not really, that's too small for any kind of detail.

Thats the point, if you want to use alot of details like text in your avatar, you can use your signature. That is where the signature is for. Not the avatar.
