Something confusing.

Since USA is a democratic country, will it even consider these petitions and others' "votes", but then again, if it is a democratic country why has this even been considered in congress?

Even if it is hosted outside the US...any .com or .net also come under this legislation.

Yeah, its really strange. The people are telling them to sod off, and they're continuing it anyway? Sounds like a dictatorship to me, and a shit one at that.

Salt and hate won't take us anywhere.
And we do not try to be real life, as why would you ever play real life if you have one ? We play the GTA universe, and our players should try to live in the GTA world, not the real one.

The answer is simple. The United States Congress is full of old men who don't understand the Internet. Now, if they were geeks in their 20s-early 30s, we wouldn't be having this problem.

A bill is not an organisation. The bill has not even been accepted yet, so there is not a single organisation authorized to carry out the work that would supposedly come with this bill. It was the FBI that shut down MegaUpload and this action had no official relation with the SOPA bill.

Doesn't mean anything. If the photographer feels his content was stolen, he would've already sued the domain-owner. You don't have to credit someone if you have discussed the terms of copyright with, in this case, the photographer.

Even if they were 18 they would have to cede the pressure from recording industry.

Communism at its best.

Didn't know schools in your country ended with communism. Damn.

In USA, it is legal for you, who have a shit ton of money, "Donate" some to a politicians campaign, and he will propose laws that you will suggest, The people do not have the right to Deny a petition, only the congress, Sure, supposedly it was the politicians to hear the peoples call, and vote as they wanted, but they'l vote for whoever pays the most.

If the server is located outside the US, US laws cannot affect the site...

And SOPA will not be passed.
Not really, US controls the world, 90% of copy rights are registered in US or via U.S. companies, so They can steal control, It'll shutdown even Youtube.

SOPA will be like : You and I are friends, we take pic together, Obv. I have copyright on me, You upload the pic on facebook or anywhere, I can sue you and you get jailed. The shit is so damn tough.

Wats even worse is, even if they allow SOPA just to end piracy, there's no garauntee that the copyright owners won't raise the prices of their products tremendously.

That can already happen, If someone posts a photo of you in facebook without your consent, you can take it to court and sue the one that posted the photo.

I totally agree with this new legislation.

And it's legit for record companies and movies producers. Every tard nowadays downloads illegal content, making the records(e.g) lose money because it's cheaper to download than pay for the album/movie/game. Mainly the companies will stop manufacturing/publishing w/e, because retards find it easier to download then pay for it, and it will have a limit, someday, if it continuous like this, publishers will go "bankrupt" and they will stop producing. I totally agree with this new law.
