In real-life inb4 not RLRP, police officers carry first-aid kits if they have to respond to a medical emergency, and then call medics for further assistance. My idea is that on spawn, a police officer gets one first-aid kit. If they must heal someone (/c medic), a police officer can also carry out /c heal if they have a first-aid kit.

Now, police first-aid, unlike EMS medical attention, should only heal between 10 and 20 HP, and their first-aid kit is used up. They'll have to use /c restock to get a new one. Police officers do not receive money. The way I see it, the police officer can call for any additional medical attention if needed. It might also give a slight boost to roleplay between VCPD and EMS. For example:

In the middle of a shootout outside the bank

Officer1 has been shot and critically injured.
Officer1 is calling for medical attention! (Bank)
** Officer2 hastily drags Officer1.
** Officer2 takes out a first-aid kit.
(To Officer2) You have given first-aid to Officer1. You should alert on-staff medics.
** Officer1 feels a little better, but is still in serious pain.
[Emergency] Officer2: We have an officer who needs urgent medical attention near the bank.
[Emergency] Medic1: 10-4, responding.
** Medic1 arrives.
(To Medic1) You have healed Officer1. Cost: $100

Some of us don't use drugs because they're, hmm... illegal.

Wow, that's a really cool idea, but not all cops are patched with First Aid. What I know is that cop cars are always patched with First-Aid,
Every time you'll get into a cop car, you'll get a first aid kit.

I was thinking something like this, but then you'd have to keep track of all the cop cars, all the cop cars that had first-aid, and figuring out when/how to restock first-aid kits in them.

I figured it would be easier to just tie it to the existing /c restock

Would be quite useful, I think.

One thing that has been missed in VC with medics is that, they can easily take sides if they wished. Criminals are able to befriend a medic and use them in fight situations.

Of course, in real life medics (paramedics etc.) along with other emergency personnel are bound by strict laws.
In-game police can't use their script tools for corruption (rulebreaking aside).

What do you mean by this exactly?

An in-game police officer would be violating server rules and the law by using their scripted commands to aid criminals. However, it's perfectly fine for in-game medics to aid criminals and side with criminals, because EMS is not considered an official faction.

Consequently, it's never guaranteed that the IG medics will help police.

I don't like it at all.

There's no need to have 2 healing classes on the server. It puts normal medic character into even more trouble with the usage.

If medic is aiding a criminal, he becomes a criminal and therefore cops should try to arrest the medic also.

Pretty much the above.

In most places there's generally tight cooperation between the emergency services (which primarily would involve the fire and rescue service [ARFD], emergency medical service [nothing "official" yet] and the police [ARPD]).

All of them work towards public safety, security and health.
All 3 are (like around the real world) governmental organisations.

In contrast, our medics tend to be more freelance and boundless.

Yea. : )

I'm always up for new developments in the server.
I am sure that ARFD & ARPD would support; a month or so back we had a message from Argonath's (currently unofficial) CIA, who were interested in setting up in VC:MP.

Just one question is, who all could fill the places?
