Server being copied

Alright, so I got bored today and decided to join some other server and f**k around(Won't name anything, let's name it ACRPG - Argonath Copy RPG). So I joni ACRPG and register and all(10k joining money like Argo, first copy) so I get the text "Call a taxi or grab a vehicle) so I enter a Premier nearby, and guess what, that same blue text on Argonath, owner: The State. So I went to the Idlewood Station(Argonath named it GS9, so guess what! It's GS9 there too!) I got sick of it so decided to contact an admin and see what the hell is this shit, so I go to the usual /admins and WHAT DO I SEE! "No admins present, but "Pamela" is watching". I got sick of it and /qed.
 
So now I want to ask, is Argonath copyrighted and do we have ways of "fighting" the copycats? (Even the /area command was the same) I won't name the server or anything, just talking in General. What should we do if we find more servers like this?

Note: Just found the owner of that server on the database of their forums, and ours. Even has the same name and Avatar, if needed I will provide info.

Take this sort of information to the leaders so that if need be it can be dealt with. It will not be the legitimate script but it will be the copy cat script that is doing the rounds.

First of all, imitatiion is the highest form of flattery. If someone wishes to copy every script and manages to do so by writing it, there is nothing that can stop them.
However if they use a coy of our scripts they obtained illegally, they can be removed from the SA:MP server list for using stolen scripts.
In our existence we had many servers who copied us, most have disappeared as it is easier to make scripts as it is to run a server.

We know the work of Louis_Keyl, and how similar or different his script is from ours, as he knows as well. There is no objection to keep his old game mode online.

Remember that without Argonath there would not be:
- Free setting of houses and business
- A cop duty system with ranks
- free buyable vehicles
- Custom interiors and the way to enter them
- Lower desync of cars

And many other small ideas we introduced that were later taken by other servers or even built in to SA:MP.

We took good ideas from other servers, and are still willing to do so. Others take good ideas from us.
That is life, and that is how it should be. They can take our ideas, but they can not take our unique community.

For those who don't know, that is exactly how Anke and Argo became the first RP servers in any GTA multiplayer mod, ever. They used great ideas, came up with their own, and formed something that later became one of the most popular gamemodes in the mods themselves. Over time, those who loved the ideas began sharing, copying, and modifying them.

Sharing ideas is not a bad thing. Stealing them is. Copying and changing them, and calling your own, so long as you're not meaning to steal, is not necessarily a bad thing either, depending on your intentions.
